Very much agree. Also keep in mind that most of these games are compiled using icc so they're targeting the intel processors to begin with. And yet AMD is still competitive.

I think the only real issue in games is number 3. and the fact that games are tailored to Intel's SMT implementation.

Number 1 and 2 sound plausible but AMD isn't dumb enough to make their CCX to CCX communication that slow... and the statically provisioned parts of the SMT implementation can be dealt with in other ways to improve a single threads performance.

I think the fact that most apps that don't use shady Intel compilers benefit on Ryzen seems to indicate this. Otherwise all apps would surely suffer?
