What problem does this solve that isn't better solved by docker or lxc? By Nixos? By flatpak?

The ability to mix unstable bleeding releases with stable and tested releases is the strongest usecase for Gentoo. What combination of packages are possible with this distribution that aren't possible on Gentoo?
