AMD hyped Ryzen as a HEDT competitor for gaming, which was obviously stupid because Intel's own HEDT isn't competitive with their high end 4 core offerings. People are just selling off or securing profits because they thought ZEN BTFO 5GHZ i7 when literally nobody sane thought Zen was going to have as good of single thread performance as an OC'd 7700k which is the current bottleneck for most gaming. Either way the power efficiency and very competitive IPC should be making Intel panic as their highest margin biz of the enterprise and server market now has a real and serious threat. There is barely any more optimization to squeeze out of their Core architecture as the last product cycle has shown.
