It won't "suck". If anything it'll come into good usage in a year or two because of threads in game terms, and have greater longevity because of it. Only mentioning because of this >>59209067 /v/aggot.
But you got a 1070 so I guess it's far to look to gaming performance.

I personally knocked back i5/7's because of the moar core factor. Don't regret it.
Really if ya above 45 fps it's all good. And you'll be around 70+ in 4k, and 100+ in 1080. So no drama sheep farmer.

Well I appreciate that. I've read a lot about it seems like it will perform well and the OC seems interesting. I planned on adding another 1070 in the near future so I shouldn't have a problem. I know the 1080TI is coming but for $699 to my $400 I payed it didn't seem like a good investment right now.

Why get the 1800x?

1700 seems to OC just as well.
