find a p67 or z68 mobo and you can do 4.2/4.0 on that cpu. Get a z75 or z77 with MCE and it will do 4.2 all cores unless its junk. running mine at 4.0 all cores with 102.6 bclk. got the mobo for $60.

games up to 2011 run pretty good on high/mid settings, modern stuff usualy just strait says that my pc is shit and don't run at all
unreal engine 3 of any year tend to run great guilty gear Xrd revalator goes high with almost no drops, just makes temperature go up too much
modern things made on unity tend to do well, if dev doesn't have arms from an ass, or vidya is to graphicaly intence

In general, each games behaves unpredictibly
For example TF2 used to work above 80 FPS on mid, after sertain update it went to shit, with horibble framedrops etc.


Mobas work on low/mid smoothly depending on title, i dont play them tho

atm mostly play fighting games and tinker with random games to make them work at all/ok.

Built it in 2013 when my last rig died. Looking to upgrade to 1440p with a 1080 in the next 6 months or so. Does anyone have any experience making the jump from 1080p to 1440p while playing competitive games? FPS, Dota, Starcraft, etc. I'd like to for single player games, but I'm not sure if it's going to feel like shit playing any of the above after over a decade on 1080p.
