why are ssd so expensive?
>>59190160
That SSD is expensive because it's overpriced.
It's because retards like you keep buying them.
>>59190160
New technology, just like a 5MB HDD costs millions back in the day. But instead of high costs it is about high profits until it costs less than $20 bucks each sdd to manufacture to they stop with their 500% profit.
>alieexpress
>electronics purchase that isn't cheap chink shit
are you fucking stupid?
the O N L Y time you need an ssd is in a portable
Fight me
>>59190189
No, are you?
>>59190160
35 cents per GB?
Kek. My first SSD was worth it at $3/GB, and I've upgraded twice since that one.
>>59190175
so give me a link to a not overpriced one
isn't a regular hdd 7200rpm as fast as those crappy ssds? probably a lot cheaper where you live
>getting anything more than 120GiB and getting a 1+ TiB hard drive along with it
Nigga
>>59190205
wow look at that rich boy.
>>59190215
it would a nice choice for a desktops buy i have a laptop
>>59190212
hdd are shit and noisy
>>59190205
>look at me, I'm a retard
That's nice. Retard.
>>59190212
>a regular hdd 7200rpm as fast as those crappy ssds
>comparing 14ms access time with 0.014ms access time
>comparing 0.2MBps 4k r/w speeds with 50MBps 4k r/w speeds
>comparing constant head parking and spindowns with literally 0(zero) noise.
lmao
>>59190160
SSD production has a MASSIVE failure rate of even individual switches. They produce a whatever 1TB SSD, a lot of that will be straight up defective. If you're buying a 500GB disk there's a good chance it's just a QC-fail for the higher rating.
>>59190694
higher then a cpu?
in i5 has more pieces and costs less
>>59190212
HDD goes 100mb/s crappy ssd like Sandisk SSD Plus can go 400mb/s
>>59190833
wut about m.2 pci-e ones
they go up to 3000mb/s

x10 = 1tb
440$
>not overpriced
>>59190833
>mb/s
Wow.
100 millibit/second really is very slow.
I can write faster than that by hand.
>>59190189
i got an ssd from aliexpress 6-7months ago and it still works fine
>>59190895
>>59191027
thanks for the (You)!
still to expensive
3tb hdd for 90$ on amazon
>>59190201
>almost 2018
>having a desktop
>>59191312
If you'll take refurb drives you can get 3TBs for $60
>>59191349
scusi, no thanks
>>59191349
>refurb drives
It's like you don't care about your data
>>59191596
you should never trust any one individual drive anyway, you should have redundancy and backups
>>59190928
You should really just say 'my cock has more bandwidth'
at least its funny and true at the same time.
>>59191027
Every SanDisk SSD I've ever had always had shit speeds
>>59191708
Maybe on raid 1 it wouldn't be too bad. Since paying $120 for redundant 3tb drives is a good deal and would have to be more reliable than just one new 3tb drive at the same price
>>59190160
>why are ssd
Pajoot go back to making windows
>>59191933
Oh never mind. Thought you were looking at 240gb.

it's because of DRAM and NAND shortage.

Because they break easily
>>59192174
>it's because of DRAM and NAND shortage.
bullshit
you mean collusion and price-fixing
just like they do with HDDs, TVs, CPUs, etc.
>>59190215
i am a manchild who puts huge video games on an SSD to load fast
At the rate things are going, by 2019ish SSD prices will be close to HDD prices.
Just buy a crucial ssd, best bang for the buck that chinks can't even touch.
>>59190672
Where are you sitting that you can hear your hard drive. I have five surrounding me at all times and only one is noisy cause it's got a defective air vent that whistles.

Best SSD for the money. I've been using it for about 3 months now and it's great.
>>59191027
>not the G25
Pass. This is DRAMless TLC. It's shit.
>>59191596
Reformatting?
>>59190201
yeah no, SSD pair for system drive, 7200 pair for data drive. NAS for backup.
>would BBWC again and it ain't even pr0n
>>59190160
Because AMD isn't posing any competition.

What the fuck is up with Samsung and price fixing. How do people still tolerate these motherfuckers.
