Are the ATH-M50X the Thinkpad of headphones?
>>59178146
Nah normies own them. Only full blown autistic 4channers own a thinkpad.
No M50X are garbage. Thinkpads are not.
HD668b is the thinkpad of headphones.
Built like shit but works great
Sennheiser HD25-1-ii are the masterrace cans..
these are the ThinkPad of headphones
anything with leather earpads can't be the thinkpad of headphones
No, the M50s are absolute inexcusable trash and thinkpads are reliable industry-standard workhorses

Listened and worn both but give me the m50's for better comfort. The Sony pads are too soft and the thing feels like cheap hard ass plastic. Im no audiophile so can't say much about the sound, but I do know m50s are a bit more bassy.

Maybe if they were shit and broke all the time
>>59178535
I came here to post this
>>59179057
>then it is the thinkpad of headphones
These are the ThinkPad of headphones
>>59178291
I own both M50x's and a Thinkpad, what does that make me?
>>59178535
How are these for actually listening to music? They're used for monitoring audio in reality
2015
>M50s are the way to go, they are hands down the best headphones for the money
2017
>I saw a guy wearing M50s in a street, I don't like this because people who I see on the street are normies as I'm the only non-normie who goes outside. M50s are absolute trash.
M40x are ThinkPad of headphones.

I too fell for the meme that were M50's. I thought they were great. Didn't realize how uncomfortable they were until I put on an actual comfortable headphone aka NVX XPT100.
I like the build quality of the M50's but the stock earpads are unacceptable for headphones at any price range. Especially when you can get much better stock earpads on cheaper headphones.
They are simply some of the best headphones you could ever get.

a fucking retard
>>59178967
This.
The m50 are actually good
>>59178146
No.
>>59178535
Yep, came here to post those.

I own them and enjoy them. There's no coloring to the sound which can be off-putting to some, but I like it since you hear things the way the engineer wanted you to hear them (because they most likely used these to master the record). As a disclaimer I've never owned any other over-ear headphones.
So is this the hpgt? What's your guy's opinion on the koss pro4aa? I got a pair in nice physical shape, but the wiring and pads are fucked. Worth the $30 in parts and probably 2 hours of labor to fix? I'd probably just take the entire cable out and put a 3.5mm socket on the side(since the stock cable, while nice, is heavy and a 1/4" plug)
>>59178146
no
>>59178342
The pads are shit. But replace them and you have an excellent headphone. I've enjoyed my 668b for 3 years now.
>>59178146
I bought M50x's March of 2016 and I've had to send them back to be fixed through warranty twice. So no, they are not the Thinkpad of headphones. I will be upgrading soon for sure.

If the M50x's continue to break on you, it might not be the headphone that's the problem. They're built great other than the earpads and the clamp.
Though you might have just got a bad pair. I wouldn't recommend them though. Other than the build quality they're pretty awful compared to cheaper alternatives.
