I actually have Ryzen on pre-order, but I know that AMD is slow between releases. At least with Intel I know i'd get a new CPU every 2 years.

I would honestly go amd.
look at intel's track record, they are still using the p6 microarchitecture as they have not made a single one in the last what, 23 years that that has worked

amd made one blunder, and that was bulldozer, then you got to see how good the engineers were when they were not hampered by top down decisions, they delivered in ipc what intel promises.

I pick AMD. Highest end consumer AMD is looking like true workstation CPU's. Would be nice to get Intel 8 CPU E7 server with maxed ram and multiple 60TB Seagate SSD's in RAID 0.
