yup I used to have a couple 1u rack servers and ended up getting rid of them. They are fucking loud, fucking hot and use a lot of electricity. No bueno for a home project. Instead I got myself a beefed up tower and it's infinitely better for VM's etc.

One day at work I was called down to sign for some packages, which is totally normal because of my position. After having the boxes moved to my office I started going through them. Apparently drunk me decided to go on a classic console and computer spending spree. I had bought a Genesis, 32x and Sega CD setup, along with a JVC xeye, an SNES and Japanese Famicom Disk System + Famicom, turbo grafix 16 with a stack of HU cards, an apple //e with rebuilt original display and a ton of floppies, a lot of old motherboards ranging from 286-486 with various hard drives, floppy drives and tape drives, a goddamn Compaq netpro server with quad pentium pro processors, an entire box of shareware disks like there must have been hundreds in here. Most in their original packaging too.

I got deliveries like this for days. In the end, drunk me spent something to the tune of $11,000 on all of this. I kept most of it and sold some of it off locally for a small markup.

I did it again recently when drunk me decided to spend $5000 on signed movie posters and 35mm movie prints.
