Get the i7 version. I have the i5 version (got it for really cheap), it isn't slow but if you get the i7 one you'll probably don't have to upgrade in at least 4 years.

Thinkpads are cheap Chinese laptops with no remarkable qualities and worse-than-average failure rates (ratings are about on par with Dell), but since /g/ is such a consumerist sucker and because the brand was once owned by IBM like 20 years ago, they fall for this shit.

If it's dramatically cheaper than the next best equivalent laptop it might be fine for you, but you're better off with a highly-rated ASUS.
