How should Linux distro development respond to the fact that ARM processors are going to become increasingly common in future?

There are a LOT of distros that are ARM only, you just don't run into them here since the kernel has support for many ARM architectures.
And any distributions dependencies and executables can be recompiled for ARM using modified Makefiles (Many of which already exist). No changes to a project's code are needed in most cases.
