In reaction to the "disruptive" Ryzen:
i7-6850k $700->$550
i7-6800k $500->$360
i7-6700k $360->260
i5-6600k $240->$180
i7-7700k $380->299

If you had actually read the article it says that the RETAILERS are doing the price cuts NOT INTEL. Obviously because Ryzen will BTFO all of intels offerings so theyre trying to get rid of them will they can.

Who gives a shit? Literally nobody cares who is allegedly behind the cuts, only that the price is now lower. This is what AMDtards have to resort to.

>6 cores are still going to be more expensive than r5 line, not to mention overpriced x99 mobos.
intel is finished
>>
>>59134347
intel cut it's prices because the only thing that motivates them is FEAR.
They have zero respect for their customers in 2017.

It's not the 1990s anymore, intel doesn't exist in a vaccum and they can't make slimy exclusivity deals anymore without getting outed on social media.

Intel cutting prices? AMD is committing another holocaust.
>>
>>59134843
Sadly, the days of Andy Grove are far behind. I hope AMD keeps pushing so when I'll change in a year or so there's some competition.
>>
When I do my next build(probably wont be for a year or two), its going to be AMD, assuming AMD is competitive.
>>
>>59134347

And this is why I keep stating that the amd cult that harbors this place is nothing but a circlejerk of fucking retards. No matter what amd does, nvidia and intell can simply out maneuver them with price manipulation alone. This will effectivelly kill Ryzen, just like Nvidia fucked the Fury lineup by reducing the price of their gpus as well.

But do keep on behaving like demented cultists thinking that a company with WAY less money and research like AMD can compete with both giants and actually beat them at their own game.
>>
I only wanted Ryzen to be successful so I can buy Intel processors at a lower price.
>>
>>59134347
Just how much profit margin does intel have on these processors that they can cut 100-150 and STILL make profit???
>>
>>59134347

>>

They don't need to turn a profit, they just need to make sure Ryzen crashes.
Too late for that I think.

Damn intel is that scared huh? haha

They've been making 45% profit margin for years.

Ryzen has smaller dies and AMD has more 14nm fab capacity than Intel. Intel can't price their way out of this one short of selling CPUs at a major loss.

All right! Time for my broke ass to build a new rig. With a Ryzen ofc. AM4 is newer and far more future proof than Intel mobos. Something all you richfags seem to overlook about a totally new socket.

Also its still $230 on Newegg. OP is a lying copypasta dink.
>>
>>59138185
>AM4 is a more futureproof motherboard
Ryzen is amazing and all but this is objectively wrong
The point is you don't need the extra features, you're paying for CPU performance over anything else (except RGB)
>>
Nice discounts on the i5 6600k and the i7 6700k. Don't think any of the others matter. That said these to me are now considered old processors, but new Intel CPU's suck so it makes the discounts even better.

As someone whos currently using an AM3 mobo and looking at having to upgrade mobo and memory and CPU and GPU instead of just CPU and GPU just to play Conan Exiles, I disagree with this assessment. Getting the newest socket and memory is a huge deal, maybe not now, but 4-5 years down the road when you can just upgrade the CPU and video card instead of building an almost entirely new system.
>>
>>59138397
This. I wish I bought AMD back in 2009 so that I could have upgraded to an 8350 and stayed with that for a while.

Im still stuck with the i7 390 on LGA 1366, the best CPU for that socket type is literally a thousand dollar Intel "Extreme" chip that performs worse than the 8350 even though it has 2 extra physical cores.
>>
>>59138423
Or you know you could get the $60 hex core Xeon (W3670) thats literally an i7-970 with a different name.
>>
>>59138253
>Ryzen is amazing and all but this is objectively wrong
No, you're objectively wrong. AMD stated that they'll stay on socket AM4 until 2020. 3 more years of support. Zen+ chips will be on socket AM4.
That is a future proof platform with a real upgrade path.
>>
>>59138423
Same. The AM3 chips are either used (never bought a used chip and don't really trust it) or way overpriced new because they don't make them since going to AM3+. Even the used ones are just shit when compared to new ones at similar price points. I could just buy a cheap AM3+ mobo, CPU, and memory with way more performance for only a few bucks more.

TLDR - obsolete mobo socket basically = might as well start fresh

>Microcenter
A store whose in-store only deals that the VAST majority of people don't have access to because they'd have to make at least a 2+ hour drive on the east coast or be shit out of luck if they live on the west coast doesn't count.

The gas used on the drive alone is enough to make the deals less than worth it, not to mention the additional wear put on your car, and the value of the time spent driving.

This is on par with victim blaming. You're "special" aren't you

but that's not the socket I'm talking about
Intel's 4+ core CPUs are on lga2011-3

The cheapest price right now for a 2011-3 mobo is on sale at 160.99 with a $20 rebate, and a 10% off code from Newegg, making it 126.90, but that ends this Tuesday.

And I've never really counted rebates because they take weeks to get and are an all around pain in the ass.

not even close
If the people with the cpus who are saying overclocking is over are anything to go by, turbo isn't even fucking close.
