I need JVM 1.8 to use Eclipse, but I don't want to screw up. Before installing JVM 1.8 is it a good idea to uninstall 1.7? In that case how can I do that if I don't even know when it's been installed (I think I installed it via apt-get, don't remember exactly since it was a long ago)? Or is there an easier way to just tell the system to replace the old JVM 1.7 with 1.8? Hope you can help me anons.
Shut up!
Heheheh, shut up
Lol, Uninstall your current jvm pajeet, download the latest from Oracle, untar and add the proper path variables
Or if I remember correctly Oracle provides a Windows like installer for pajeets like you that don't even understand the path variables concept, just be sure to have x11 activated

Don't do this, just use the Debian package for this. The oracle-jdk package is just a downloader and some needed environment variables you need.

You can install as many java version as you want. Use update-alternatives to switch, if needed (The newest version should get selected by default.)

Java may go to reddit

I set the paths when I installed it you faggot, it's not like wanting to ask and do the right thing before fucking up my package dependancies is being a "pajeet" (indians are also the best about CS so I don't see why this should be an insult) and honestly I don't have time to deal with cucks like you.

okay thank you, so if I install it following what they say here: https://www.java.com/en/download/help/linux_x64_install.xml it should set the 1.8 as default?

I hate java as you do but sometimes you need to work with it. And hey, at least it's better than MS's Cuck#. At least it's a bunch of open source libraries and not an engulfed precompiled dll hell in which the programmer is just a cuck who must do stuff as MS wants only.
