2 years with the rival. Grip is still holding up okay. Scroll wheel/click is not functioning. The asymmetric design ends up being not ergonomic and fucks with mouse movement by cramping my hand. I have to claw grip the rear side to make it comfortable, palming this is not possible.
I might just end up switching to the G-Pro which is a lot more uniform and can be held in more than one way.

The whole reason I bought this mouse was because I had incorrectly assumed that because there was the option to add weights the mouse would be nice and light without it. Boy was I wrong.

I have removed the weight flap and cut out the weight dividers to reduce some weight, despite the lack of a slide point it still slides fine, still heavy though.

Those popout button seem cool as heck, but I can't foresee a situation where having less (but bigger) buttons is better than still having all 12. If I'm limiting myself to 6 buttons, I'd rather keep my thumb on the 6 rear buttons (less travel time) rather than convert to 6 bigger buttons.

>braided cords usually look like shit after a while
I had a Logitech G500 (which had a braided cable) for about 6 years. The cable stayed nice for 3 or 4 years, but after a ton of moving (to and from college, cord getting coiled in a backpack) it started to develop kinks. Like, the rubber cable would poke out of a hole in the sleeve. I just cut the sleeve where it did that, then it *really* looked like shit.

Made me sad, because I fucking loved that mouse. That scroll wheel is still the best one I've ever used.

If you take care of them, braided cables will last a long time. Were it not for me shoving it in a backup, tightly coiled up every time I brought it to/from college, I'd probably still be using that mouse today.

How heavy is this thing?
I recently started playing MOBAs and it seems like it would be a nice choice.
I used to have a Logitech 400 and it felt a bit light for my taste.
>>
>>59124875
It feels kind of hollow, and the feel of the casing in your hand is rather cheap. The rubber grip on the sides is really hard and doesn't offer much grip at all, but the performance is rather good. I haven't played any games yet with it but mousing around at 1000hz/2300 dpi it feels just as good as my G502. Seems to be angle-snap free too.
>>
>>59124950
great picture

are you into photography by chance?
>>
>>59124969
I'd say it's heavier than your average mouse.
Keep in mind that some mice like the g502 come with weights so you can adjust it to your liking, but the g402 doesn't have anything like that.

>>59125015
If it's slighty heavier than the average mouse then that should be enough.
How is the build quality?
>>
>>59125029

>>
>>59125040
>How is the build quality
It's a pretty solid mouse all round.
My biggest issue though is that there are several creases where dust can accumulate and it can be very difficult to get out. It usually gets stuck in between the buttons or around the feet of the mouse.
Obviously, it's easy to get off the feet, but you have to be careful about the buttons.
>>
>>59125076
This also applied to cleaning the G502... it takes some effort to clean.
>>
>>59125076
Cool.
Thanks for the answer m8, this mouse is about as expensive as I'm willing to buy so I'll probably go for it.

One last question if you don't mind: do you NEED to install the software to use it?
>>
>>59125111
The mouse works without the software, but you will not be able to do many things, like setting custom DPI, changing keybindings, seeing per-program profiles, etc.
You'll just have to use it with the default settings of you don't want the software.

I have poor circulation, any mice will give me a sore wrist if I don't stretch regularly, heavy ones affect me sooner. Admittedly I have rather thin wrists which doesn't help. Winter is very unpleasant.

I should also probably use a mouse pad as it gets much harder to move when the desk gets even slightly dirty.

Yeah, it's great. Sensei RAW rubberized, the braided cord is umatched and the mouse has a distinctive feel to it that just makes you grab it. Not that it matters that much, but the LED has different lighting options which is neat.

Mine got owned because some drink poured on it during travel so I had to buy a ricey Naga 2014 which I didn't like because of the botnet driver and didn't fit.

Got EC1A instead, but I'd buy Sensei raw again (even without the heavy ss drivers). Still have an MX518

The scroll wheel is the only problem with this mouse - it's loose like on the deathadder. You can move it slightly left and right, it sometimes makes weird noises when scrolling, but it doesn't bother me. In csgo I have my scroll wheel up and down binded to jump so my character sometimes jumps itself, which is annoying. The sensor is great but it gathers alot of dust on it and after a while it starts doing weird shit when flicking, but cleaning the sensor with tissues makes it perfect again.

note that grid mice can be really good for productivity if you know what you're doing.

Each key can be binded independently as if it were a keyboard key, so you get alot of combinations and possibilities to even switch and extend the functionality over different environments.

I used one of these as a keyboard for texting instant messaging on a remotely controlled phone while switching back, so it's messaging without a screen. I haven't used them more extensively with other apps.

Corsair M65 Pro.

I have to say, the geometry was a little different than I'm used to and I had to adjust the way I held my mouse a little. That said, I used a small wireless logitech travel mouse for like 4 years before getting this.

Now that I'm used to it, I love this mouse. Build quality is great, the feel is excellent, just enough buttons to do what I need, and nice mass. The sensor has been great.

My only real complaint with the mouse is that it either doesn't appear to be able to, or I haven't figured out how to save configuration profiles directly to the mouse. So the lighting profile reverts to the default until the Corsair CUE software loads.

+ Lightweight ( 90g but 70g with weight off ), tracks up to 5m/s, great sensor overall. Quite cheap ( 30€ish)

- Useless LEDs, have to flash to newest firmware to have it be usable and no side buttons.

>You don't use them regularly. I've got both of the wing buttons activated on mine. 4 extra buttons isn't too complicated, so I'm not pondering about which button to press for what.

Sure, we can help.

If you look to the right, there is a button that says "Add to cart". Click on that and follow the instructions.

refurb vs used-very good
>>
>>59139789
I would go with refurbished because it probably broke early in its lifespan and it will have fewer signs than the "very good" one.
But why can't you just buy a new one?
>>
>>59139806
I'm a jew.
>>
>>59139854
If you're really worried about it failing you should buy the very good one. It may have signs of wear but it will probably work for a long time.
If you want to live dangerously, as this goy does, you should get the refurbished one.
>>
>>59139900
Do you want headphones that were refurbished and inspected before being put up for sale, or headphones that look like new, according to the seller?
>>
>>59139977
>look like new
That would be excellent condition. The bottom one is only very good.
As I said in
>>59139806
I would prefer the refurbished one.
What I'd worry about is some other component being bad with the refurbished one.

samesies. love the side buttons' placement
17.5cm length, finger grip. perfect region for my thumb. I had to move my hand out of position to reach both buttons on my old MX518.

At work/when not gaming, I use pic related

I'm no Luddite, but why did we stop using ball mice? The physical action is much more reliable and less glitch-prone than optical ones, gives you actual feedback, and they're easier to clean when something gets into their sensor.

Do any companies besides logitech make unlockable scroll wheels? I want to try a different brand but I can live without the quick scrolling anymore.
>>
>>59122178
this, had it for probably 2 or 3 years? (really only has a few months worth of wear on it though because I only use it when gaming which is really only when I'm at sea)

still no clue what the button above the scroll wheel does though

What I do sometimes is open up the mouse and remove the detent that gives to wheel its clicks. It's not as smooth as Logitech's abll bearing scroll (or whatever it is they use), but the lack of bumps is nice.

I have that exact model. Never even thought of turning off the leds. Can you do it without Synapse? Because Synapse is a cancerous piece of dog shit. I don't like keyboards or mice that need drivers.

What's a reasonable life expectancy for a mouse?
I bought a Logitech G400 about 4 years ago and it's already crapping out on me. Kinda disappointed tbqh since it's discontinued.
Is the G402 a decent successor?
>>
>>59141835
Crapping out how? Random disconnects?

If so, that's a pretty easy fix. Just open it up and tuck the cable in to the mouse body some more. I've had my G400 several years now, and it's still truckin along perfectly after one fix.
>>
>>59141835
Honestly, it depends on the owner. People treat their cars like shit and have to lease a new one every 5 years. I have a 14 years old car that people think I bought last year.

Currently using this shit. Got it for free about a year ago and it has some DPI settings so I've stuck with it
>>
>>59142006
No, it's more like the scroll wheel turns but doesn't actually move pages anymore. Not always though.

Right click tends to get stuck sometimes too.
I've never opened it up though, maybe a simple cleaning would do?

>>59142019
Yeah, I didn't really treat it with care after the first year desu
>>
>>59142104
If you're just going to chuck the old mouse, then you have nothing to lose by opening it up and cleaning it out. Very rarely is something BROKEN. Clogged sensor, weak spring, rat feces in the laser, etc...

I have one too. the button on the top behind the scroll wheel is a DPI switch. I believe you can have three DPI settings in the mouse software. it is pretty useful in FPS games.

I like how damn cheap this thing is. I went from using a $100 Razer death adder to this $30 steel series and its way better.

Lighter, No infini-scroll wheel and will run into issues of double clicking after a year and a half.

Gotta admit this bitch ain't dead yet since I bought it Q4 2014.

If you really don't have cash, go nuts. The G403 / G502 is a better option.
>>
>>59143534
Some reviews say the 403 is a nice mouse function wise but it feels somewhat hollow and cheap, can you confirm/deny?

Don't really like the way the 502 looks tbqh

>>

terrible mouse you got there

>too small
>cable way too stiff
>aweful aweful scroll wheel shape
>buggy - as in, it changes sensor settings on its own
>it's pretty ugly as well

one big problem i had with it was that i keep accidentally right clicking. it's just so small and there switches are pretty light and there's just no space to rest your fingers.

i've come to the realization that i never want to buy a mouse again that doesn't have a bit of resting space for your fingers next to the main buttons on top. the body shell needs to be visible from the top on the outside of the main buttons along the side. it makes a mouse that much more comfortable the way i am holding it.

good examples of this design choice are these:

>>59124624
>>59125837
>>59126016
>>59126242
>>59129464

this other variant is much more common but it is an inferior design i think:

Sorry for the late reply anon. I haven't used the G403 fully, I only held it on a demo. It's a wee heavier than the G402.
>>
>>59143534
>Lighter
Not sure if that a bad thing.
>>
>>59126239
Cord point leaving the mouse itself would always go on mine. It would start disconnecting and reconnecting. Gave up after three mice and bought other meme mice.
>>
>>59143534
This is completely different from my experience.
I've had mine since around Feb 2015 and it's still working without any issues.
The fact that it's lighter is a personal preference.
It's true that it doesn't have an infini scroll wheel, but that's also because it's the cheaper version of the 502.
Obviously it's not going to have all the same features.
