When I joined my current job, I tried all combinations of nice, short usernames, but they were all taken.

Eventually, I gave up and went with "god", which their signon tool accepted.

My school is also an ISP and provides internet to my dorm, then forces us to name connected routers and computers (not smartphones though) as PC-LASTNAME, ROUTER-LASTNAME, LAPTOP-LASTNAME.
Probably so that they can identify who browses what. Pretty fucking threatening desu, but they cut you off if you don't follow their rules.
