I always though desktop is pronounced desk+top, but I recently noticed a lot of tech reviews and tech people pronouncing it tex-top/teks-top or tech-stop.
Is that some new meme or have I been in the dark my whole life? Is that always been like that and I just noticed? I'm real confused here.

Why? Where did it come from?

People here don't speak English natively and it annoys me because I'm a fucking autist

I don't speak it natively either, but even before I spoke english as a kid I knew how to spell "desktop"
It's pronounced "Desk Top". End thread
It's a virtual desk-top, why would you pronounce it any other way?

That's the actual way of spelling it, since it first was conceived, look up some old Windows videos or something.
