What's best software to encryption software to use on windows 7 boot drive?
Is it TrueCrypt?
Is VeraCrypt any good?
Are there any good alternatives if one encounters trouble with these two?
People say truecrypt is still fine although the longer it goes untouched the less id personally trust it. People then say veracrypt is backdoored by nsa. Tbh veracrypt is fine for you cause at the end of the day if nsa wants your data, theyll get it somehow.

I use veracrypt on my pc since tc doesn't support gpt and i have a 3tb drive but i can't get either tc or vc vorking on my laptop, are there any /g/ approved alternatives?

Not even NSA, anyone can. They literally just need to torture OP for password.

Torture doesn't actually "just werk" like that.

Can you guys stop arguing about bullshit and help me please? I get "drive corrupted" error every time i try to doot up from vc/tc encrypted drive, i reformated and reencrypted fresh installs multiple times, i'm pretty sure i can't use either of these programs on this laptop and would love if someone could suggest me a good secure alternative.
Thanks.

Run crystal disk and look if the hdd didnt went to shit or will likely in the next months. Follow instructions to Set the right Parameter.

I will but I don't think that's the case, windows boots up fine from non-encrypted drive and i installed mint with built-in encryption, that boots up fine too, i'm sure it's a bug/incompatibility within tc code.
