As said previously I'm a noob when it comes to building everything from scratch, I don't think that building my own would be a good idea.
If I learn more about it I could do it though.

Yeah I'm going to look on Amazon, most of the time I try not to because a lot of it is just chinkshit.

>>59115293

Thanks for the links but those look pretty bad.

Honestly I just want the simplest keyboard that could exist, just without any fat bezels and grainy plastic.
Thanks for the help Anons.

ISO is a plus but not a necessity, I think I could get used to ANSI.
Is there any other issue that could cause ?
>>
>>59115765
No but if you can go with ANSI there are much cheaper alternatives on like Amazon
Magicforce 68 for example, mix between 60% and TKL, Outemu switches are legit

I think they've fixed the non standard bottom row in the new version (Masterkeys Pro M) not sure tho
>>
>>59115794
Yeah that one https://www.massdrop.com/buy/magicforce-82-key-mechanical-keyboard looks pretty good.
Only thing that bothers me is the lightning which I dont want plus the fact that there's a metallic border around the edges.
Seems like a good option to me thought.
And I think that I could still add some keycaps to it.

That's actually an old pic and I managed to find fitting keycaps for the bottom row of mine eventually.

They do look to have fixed it with the new board at least. Shame it looks like the casing/keycaps are as garbage as the Quickfire TK though.

personally ZZ96

I prefer a bit of spacing between the clusters, so 1800 appeals more to me.

I've bought an AULA F2012 on Ali (no idea if it has Gaterons), but there is still time to cancel it.

I can't fault the Magicforce either desu. It might not be programmable but it's decent quality, has built-in functions, DIP switches for some layout adjustability. I think you get it as low as about £30 with no backlighting, to put towards some decent keycaps.

I haven't owned any other similarly priced boards to compare it to, to be fair, but it does seem to get good ratings in general. You just need to find one with Cherry / Gateron switches, as I think some of them come with Kailh?
>>
>>59117503
I might just buy it then.
What keycaps are those ?

>>59117503
I doubt the one I bought has Gaterons as it was very cheap and they didn't say...

Some background: I'm german, have used QWERTZ layout keyboards all my life, use GNU/Linux-based operat and a programmer. I type mostly english.

>Budget
125€ (~ 132$)

>Location (continent at least)
Germany

>Preferred switch type
Blue, I think.

>Layout
QWERTZ preferably, unless I find a good way to remap the keys. Although I feel like I should be able to do so using my desktop environment (KDE) relatively easy. Ideally, I'd want to somehow keep the keys for '<' and '>' that's usually located on the bottom left, next to the capslock key.

>Form factor
Full/Tenkeyless

>Backlight
Not necessary, but cool

>Previous/current keyboards
Logitech K310 (don't laugh)

Some help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated for german babby's first mechanical keyboard.

Just popping in to say thanks to you guys.

Earlier this week I posted about being filthy laptyper and wanting a wireless keyboard with a standard, non-bullshit layout and you guys helped me out. Pic is what I posted with, because that's what I may end up falling back to if things don't work out.

I went ahead and bought the Varmilo VB87M from massdrop.

I have about 200 Gateron white switches laying around here I wouldn't mind putting into it, but I'm curious- how are the Gaterons when dealing with (smd I'm going to assume) lighting? It has the lighting so I may as well take advantage of it...

>>
Why would I pick clears over browns??????????????????????
>>
>>59140024
Because they feel infinitely better.
>>
>>59140032
Even for gaming?

I don't play twitch shooters that often compared to just casual/slow gaems but it would be nice to have something not awful for it like blues
>>
>>59140039
The only thing remotely disadvantageous about blues for gaming is the mismatched reset point making double taps always slower. And that's a clicky switch thing, any linear or tactile switch won't have that problem so it's just about what you like more.
>>
>>59140073
Also not exactly sure about the heavier switch for ergonomics because rapidly pressing a heavy switch or even typing on it must be bound to cause problems

I have had Topre before and although I miss the feel now it definitely was tiring to type on that shit compared to something lightweight
>>
>>59140126
Typing isn't a problem on stock clears, and rapid pressing hasn't been either. The weight only becomes a problem to me when holding keys down for extended periods of time like you often do in FPSes. That's why I've downgraded the springs in my clears from stock ~100g bottom out to aftermarket 67g bottom out.

I mean pre-made keyset. EZ doesn't seem to sell their keyset :(.
I picked up this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ErgoDox-Ergonomic-Mechanical-Keyboard-Cherry-MX-Blue-Fully-Assembled-NOT-Kit-/182467139349?hash=item2a7be39715:g:PXIAAOSwGotWqG4l
a few days ago when ebay had a $10 off $50+ deal going.

romer-g's are switches too!

IKBC or Varmilo for a first timer? I heard both are exceptional quality wise but I just want to make sure I'm good whichever I pick

Only ever used brown switches, they feel nice. May try other ones but usually it's stick with what you know
>Layout
CH or DE I guess
>Form Factor
Only ever worked with Full Size, may try Tenkeyless though
>Backlight
Doesn't matter, if it has to be there I'd say blue
>Previous Keyboard
dasKeyboard, no idea which model though since it was a present

Also I think it's pretty important to have replacement keycaps aviable for an affordable price and in general have my keycaps stay dull.

Thanks alot in advance /mkg/

what do you not like about your das/why do you feel the need to upgrade?

He was probably talking about the Meme Emitting Diodes.

Either get a dust cover for your keyboard or buy one of those keyboards that can be washed in the sink without removing any keycaps
>>
>>59142824
It was fine but the keycaps were very expensive or not replaceable and it only worked for about 3 years, which was way too short for the initial price of the thing which was something around 230USD or so.
So I'd like to try a new keyboard with none of the downsides I guess.

The das keyboard has a standard ANSI layout you know. You can replace the keycaps rather easily.

Just finished putting the o rings on. No idea what to do with the remaining two. They seem far too large to be used as cock rings.

IKBC for OG CMX switches or Varmilo for Gats (they supply CMX too but only select switches).
