Protip: it probably won't boot. And when it does it won't enable TRIM so your SSD will be fucking slow.

should have done it differently.
- Transfer everything in /home to a new partition on the new machine (not the new root).
- save all data not in home and not managed by apt, like things in /usr/local, maybe /opt, and maybe /etc
- Save a list of packages on the old machine (there's a apt/apt-get command that spews out all explicitly installed packages).
- Install ubuntu the regular way on the new machine, set the previously copied data from /home as your new /home.
- Feed the list of packages you had installed to apt so it installs them on the new machine

Put in windows 7 disk and it will repair and then it will work
