>Windows in charge of memory management
It just keeps going up and up, LOL!

Absolutely hilarious, Windows update is now using about 12 and a half gigs of RAM
>>
>>59103595

>has 32 GB Ram

wonders why windows is using resources available to it

piece of shit faggot retard pajeet monkey
>>
>>59103595
its caching the update in ram instead of saving to the storage drive

youd think people would have some basic computer knowledge before they start recording gayming content to put on yuutube

Doesn't happen on my 64 GiB machine, and the one in OP is on LTSB so there shouldn't be much in the way of updates, certainly not 12 GiB worth
>>
>>59103595

>Alienware
>>
I just discovered it's not from Windows update
It starts happening when I try to initialize a disk that it crashes on
From then on memory just goes up and up and up
>>
>>59103660
are you implying microsoft is pushing 12gb updates now?
>>
>>59103669
>>59103703
i heard theres a memory leak in windows update so it might be to do with that

>>59103707
gotta add in the new spyw.. i mean user features
>>
>>59103675
There's nothing wrong with Alienware.
>>
>>59103595

I've had an issue w/ Windows leaking memory like a sieve lately. The only thing that fixes it (outside of a reboot) is to reset the WMI repository. A few weeks ago my machine gave me a warning I haven't seen in a long while, saying my virtual memory was exhausted. I had a 59GB pagefile.

What the actual fuck? I have 32GB of RAM and I rarely even use half of it.
>>
I swear - the more powerful a pc a person has, the more of a retarded mouthbreathing nigger they are
>>
>>59103879
Well this time I didn't touch the disk I thought was causing a problem and it's still going up by .1 or .2 MB every time task manager updates itself

Disabled Windows update so it's not that either.
>>59103875
Trying
>>
>>59103879
True.
>>
>>59103595
>being this bad at computing
laff
>>
OP here, think I fixed it.
I unplugged the drive - it looks like the sata cable is fugged for some reason

Arch never gave me any issues (I didn't use the disk there either but not sure why - maybe I knew this was broken beforehand and did not care)

Thanks for the help/comfort guys

How dumb am I then
>>
>Not having 128GB if RAM.

Why is it other people's fault that you can't afford things?
>>
>>59104218
Literally Apple user dumb
>>
unused RAM is wasted RAM
>>
>>59104232
The problem wasn't the missing 12 GiB but mostly that it was causing weird hangups where like my mouse would go slow and shit and games were choppy even if running at 90+ fps
>>
>>59104235
no
>>
>>59104218
why the fuck dont you have at least a terabyte of ssd storage

>>

I'm going to throw another one in there eventually lmao don't worry
SSD prices were really high when I was buying, didn't want to drop 400 on a 1tb

I bet it has something to do with their ui, don't they embed webkit to display it like all the other hip new programs?

Update your network drivers from the official website.
There's a memory leak that's causing your issue. I've seen this happen before.
Nothing to do with windows.

>>
>>59111836
Same guy, but not a user of the Windows Reality Distortion Field. Sometimes there's problems and I have the BALLS to admit it.

BTW I fixed the problem, it was a fucked up sata cable
>>
>>59103875

What's the latest branch like for you? I had the compressed memory store being pretty leaky on TH2 but RS1 seems to be quite alright
