Anyone else use an alt keyboard layout?
On dvorak myself
why
literally why

I use dvorak as well, pretty comfy typing to be honest, all the most common vowels on the homerow, qwertiers won't understand

this. it's not a speed thing, it's about the comfort.
Azerty is nicer for typing on my phone

What the fuck is the point of Azerty? I understad Dvorak, but Azerty is litterally just Qwerty with like 5 letters swapped. I don't get it.
I have only been a hardcore dvorak typer for about 4 months. I use dvorak on my home PC but at work I have to use qwerty because other employees use the computer and pressing a hotkey to swap it is literally too complicated and irritating for them to do... I brought my Poker 2 with porgrammed layer programmed to dvorak for awhile but hauling it around got tiresome.
It is alright though. I have been able to keep both layouts typing speed relatively fast. But my typing speed is definitely being held back by the constant switching. After warming up on a layout I easily hit 60 wpm on qwerty and 80+ on dvorak. I used to be 90-100 on qwerty before I switched. The comfort and precision in dvorak is noticeable. My brother hits 130wpm without trying on dvorak and he claims his programming and command line has improved because he makes far fewer missclick typos now. His input on the matter was the primary reason I made the switch.
I thought about it but my phone and everyone else's keyboards are still going to be qwerty so why bother?

Frenchies. I use CanFrench myself, which is basically Qwerty with keys for French accents (ï, ç, é, à)

Learning a different layout doesn't mean you forget how to use QWERTY.
Also, you can change your keyboard layout on your phone with several keyboards. Google Keyboard supports it.

I still use qwerty on my phone and can type qwerty still cause I use it on other people work computers.
So I see you're running Dvorak. You know I'm actually on Qwerty myself. I know that keyboard layout is supposed to be better but... you know what they say, old habits they die hard

I know, it just seems offputting to be going back and forth.
>Also, you can change your keyboard layout on your phone with several keyboards
I've got a physical keyboard
I'm not retarded so I'm using a layout suitable for programming.

What is this variation on dvorak called what key do you use to switch to the numpad? also what do you use for arrow keys? Really intrigued by this.
