Juust a bit more...
Even google started a new one I heard. Jesus fucking christ, when will people understand we don't need copy cats. The licensing is what made Linux, not the concept.

PS. i.e. Stallman got it all wrong, he shouldn't sperg and screech with "it's GNU/Linux", he should outright say "It's my GPL license that made it took off", which is something true for a change, even if the GPL can hurt capitalism sometimes.

>the licensing
the exact point why Google is making themselves a BSD or apache licensed OS.
GPL forces them to publish any changes made to Linux if they release the results. They probably want something like chrome: create a libre OS but release one based on it with added proprietary parts like drivers, firmware and botnet ofc.

Haiku Beta when?

Fuchsia will replace Linux on Android devices.
Why is a non-monolithic kernel important?

The HURD has been dead for a while.
But there's a bunch of other microkernel-based systems which are not dead.
Systems that are not using a fucking pre-Liedtke microkernel like the HURD.
Systems like Genode, Minix3, HelenOS, Google Fuchsia.

i hope they take their time to make it right and dont rush

https://www.gnu.org/gnu/gnu-users-never-heard-of-gnu.html
>Most people have never heard of GNU. Even most of the people who use the GNU system have never heard of GNU, since so many people and companies teach them to call it “Linux”. Indeed, GNU users often say they are “running Linux”, which is like saying you are “driving your carburettor” or “driving your transmission”.
This man never gets old.
