I like it. I'm studying PvsNP thesis.
Honestly a waste for about 90% of people who go to school for it. Most of you would be better off going to a good programming bootcamp

currently doing second year in a top 50 university. it's interesting but damn if those tests aren't making want to kill myself.
maybe I'm just a fucking retard. I'm starting to think that I'm not nearly as intelligent as I was told.
It's more like linguistic engineering.

nah, school just sucks man

Tests, especially theoretical "write this entire program that SHOULD compile but in paper" are the biggest bullshit.
I knew a kid with straight A's because he could regurgitate acronyms and vocabulary with ease, but sit him down to write a program by himself and it's laughable how quick he crashed and burned.
Tl;dr tests are shit

I'd assume you mean somewhere around 40s right?
>>59101258
that would imply you're engineering the language. a better name would be computational linguistics.

There's a strong correlation between test ability and intelligence / general ability. Yes, tests are flawed, but no, you're probably not smarter than someone who does very well on standardized tests.

This. So far, all my test have been writing code on paper. I get that it's important to remember syntax and shit, but it's annoying when you have to write it all out and hope there is no errors.

You have to do these tests in real interviews. Surprise!
It's not for everyone, and not for all programmers who just want to code and make shit.
