Is it possible to plop a SSD from a deprecated computer into a new one and run its Windows 10?
My music workstation died from water damage but the SSD is still kicking -- but there are SO MANY things tied to specific directories and written into the registry of that Windows install that starting fresh and trying to restore all that would be an enormous pain in the ass.

if its from a pc then yes
if its from a laptop then no

Also depends on the processor and operating system have the same architecture

not really, usually windows can correct itself for that

i assume you were meaning microarchitecture, since if you had a ssd youd proooobably have amd64

Rly, cool. I know 64 bit was compatible with 32, but not the other way around

well you can use 32bit windows on a 64 bit processor and not the other way around, but i doubt anyone would be running 32 bit windows on an ssd in 2017
But anyways, yeah you should be fine. It's not like it's gonna corrupt your old ssd if you tried anyway. Kek

Well i know some people that still would. Kek

It's a 2.5 inch 850 EVO coming from a PC into a laptop.

should be fine, usually if you use an os from a laptop then the key for the os is stored in the bios to stop people using it elsewhere
one from a pc should be fine as long as it wasnt some branded oem shit
Yes there's a "Refresh Windows" thingy in the bootloader that works when changing hardware
