I still believe that intel will win the fight
How abot you?
When they launch their new architecture in four years.

Unless it's NetBurst 2.0 or another itanic.

Desktop cpu market is too small so you can guess the outcome. It's still fun to have a 3.4 GHz cpu if you are a gaymur manchild.
I
I BELIEVE
I BELIEVE THAT
I BELIEVE THAT SHE
I BELIEVE THAT SHE CAN
I BELIEVE THAT SHE CAN WIN

It's cute that you think there's a fight.
It has already won. There is literally no reason to upgrade if you have an Intel CPU of the last 5 to 7 years. Wait for those years to double and then we're talking.
The silicon paradigm is almost dead. It's just hard to smallen the transistor.
Soon we'll even start hitting severe quantum limits. It's dead jim.

As far as performance goes, yes.
Performance/price? Fuck no. I think that battle was lost even with FX shit.

Problem with that argument is that cheap shit tends to be trash shit. e.g. look at cheap GPUs. Sure, they "ace" on the "performance for price" graph but they are literally useless even for 1080p.
If Bob Noyce was still around, they'd be fine. But he's been dead and gone for a long time now, and Intel has increasingly lost its way.
Lisa Su is the best CEO of a microprocessor firm; AMD is the place where exciting new breakthroughs are being made today, not Intel.

>AMD is the place where exciting new breakthroughs
They literally just released a copycat of Intel technology from 2010.

>Ryzen CPU, designed in house from the ground up, not an iteration of an old design
>copycat
Pick one.

It's nothing like Intel besides using 86-64 set of instructions.

The RX 480 doesn't have a shit performance and it has an incredible FPS/$$$ ratio
>>59083794
Money intel had a lot, AMD is had debt.

Barely passable performance for 2017 desu. I would never buy it this year. I'd rather save some more and get something 40-50% faster at least.
It already costs quite a bit. Why not just bite the bullet and give 50% more money at least to get something that won't make you be like "shit, I have to to replace it" within 1 year?
