I was thinking about going the ikea counter top route as well. Just a nice counter top (been looking at the concrete finish one) and some legs.

Not really a fan of the way their drawers look, and they're pretty expensive when you compare it to just getting the legs.

I was actually looking at the ekbacken concrete effect today at Ikea. Looks nice but not sure how a grey desk will suit my room (white wall cream carpet) imo the Alex storage unit looks better paired with a couple of legs.

Ive got this as a desk and it works pretty nicely. Obviously not as nice as an Ikea desk, but it's pretty good if the closest Ikea store is over 4 hours away like me.

That's the same one I've been looking at online. Haven't had a chance to see it in person yet. I've got darker tones in my room (brown carpet, brown walls) so I feel it would be perfect.

How tall are those storage units? I'm a pretty tall guy so the adjustable legs are really tempting to me.
