Hello /g
help me to choose an hyperviseur for my home personnal server =)
CentOS + KVM + qemu
>>59078073
okey why not ;); but why is better?
>>59078105
KVM is the best choice for an home setup because it works great and is also free libre open source software.
vmware is a pain in the ass, it only support a very limited set of hardware, it's control program was/is only available for windows (and maybe osx), etc.
On the contrary, CentOS pretty much works everywhere, is free, and is fucking great.

okey=)
i advice you to test, it's very to use
I use XenServer and I really like it. It's based on lijux but it just werks. Also has a remote management interface, really handy. I think in many ways is's similar to Proxmox, I have never used Proxmox though. Anyway, I recommend XenServer whole-heartedly.

If you are doing this because you enjoy learning and tech stop using a web interface. Proxmox is just tying together open source software.
