2000: replace typical floppy usage with a 64M usb drive (for machines new enough to have usb ports)
mid 2000's: use with my ps2

hasn't seen much use since then, i got a 16 port ethernet hub in 2003 which replaced flash drive use internally more or less

the biggest flash drive i have is 512M
if i need to move a lot of data between two places outside of LAN range, then i use my usb 2.5" hdd, which is faster and bigger (250G, ~40MB/s. itself getting a bit old, but still doing the job)
