Why is GoySync so expensive?
It adds like £150-200 to the same monitor with FreeSync
At this point I'm considering giving up on it even though I have a GTX 1080

get one and keep it fore 7 years
>>59073668
that's what I thought when I got my previous monitor
now it doesn't support shit
>>59073628
Because they can charge what they want for it, and because it requires the monitors to have a proprietary chip embedded. AMD is using Adaptive Sync to accomplish the same task, which is an open standard and requires no additional licensing.

Yep
Nvidiots will try to defend G-Sync
Cause it fucking works much better than the poorfag alternative.
Nvidia charges money for quality products while nobody sane would buy AMD garbage alternatives.

The good free-sync displays are basically no different from the G-sync displays
>>59073809
>works much better than freesync
>all you need to do is buy a brand name like acer, aoc, asus
prove it
>nvidia will defend needing a chip when the standard exits
What even exactly is gsync? It's like hardware vsync? I don't get what it does that doesn't happen already?

Actually uses smarts so that the GPU and monitor are always talking at the same frequency so there is no screen tearing, and they know what frequency each other is at.
I'm a freesync user and it definitely is better than not having it in my opinion. Not sure I'd pay extra for it but I'm all AMD here so that's not really an issue.

You called it right on time, see
