Just wanted to speak up for KDE Plasma. Its not fair that it gets so much hatred, it very much matured in the last year.
I will first say that I had so much problems with bugged KDE but that happened only on Fedora, Kubuntu... that is until I switched to Manjaro and stayed there for over a year.
Before KDE I used Xfce all the time because it really was the best thing for me, but later I felt the lack of features that KDE had. Mainly the Dolphin and the main launcher that can search your whole machine for files. Dolphin alone has so much features that it is easily the best file manager in Linux world.
I must say that over the years and changing so many distros/DEs I have come to the conclusion that distros/DEs behave differently on different machines, for me the most compatible one was Manjaro, never had any crashes or bugs to this day, pure happiness on my end and it doesnt mean that it will be same for other people which is the main reason the distro wars exist. We think that it works everywhere the same so we shill for it because it works for us. That pure wrong. Just like with KDE.

Used Plasma for 6 months. It never failed to crash horribly after 4 days uptime even on the official KDE Neon builds.
Oh, and it keeps a record of everything in your clipboard which means using a password manager is going to leak things. No, you can't turn that off.

even on Gentoo it idled a 4 core Haswell Xeon @ like 25%.

I really like KDE Plasma - using it at the moment. It's one of the better DEs out there right now.

KDE barely uses 4% on idle on my 6 years old laptop.

Why can't you memorize long passwords with a mnemonic?
