2. use a foil adapter to swap 2 signal pins
3. find a modded bios for your motherboard with xeon microcode, or make it yourself with mmtool

you can buy pre-modded xeons on ali with 1-2 already done for you.
3 is not strictly necessary, but some features like speedstep might not work

You need a normal cpu to mode the bios with the microcode, after that you can install whatever you want. Getting an ancient S775 pentium for that is not an issue though.

I recently build a system for someone using an ancient PC I had laying around to a x5450 for only 15 dollars.
Added a ATI 6450 I had laying around from my ancient htpc and will added a chinese 25 dollar SSD.
