The budget-entry level market cannot be neglected by AMD. Even Steam statistics confirm that more than 40% of users play on low-medium end PCs http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey
Their Ryzen lineup looks neat but still can't beat the performance per dollar this thing offers. Do you think cheap APUs will be on the same level of G4560?

Yes.
I'm not sure if they're going to the sub-$100 market. The thing with Ryzen is by the time you only have two working cores binned the whole chip is probably fucked.
I have been so curious about this.

Explain
AYYMD HOUSEFIRES will have to use 4 cores 8 threads to compete with G4560

Ryzen is built from "core modules" (like bulldozer except they don't go full retard this time) of four cores. Two modules makes an 8 core, two modules with some defective cores makes a 6 core, one module is a four core.
If you only have one module to begin with and then some cores are fucked on top of that, I'm not sure the architecture lets you salvage a chip.

With Broadwell levels of IPC, it will finally offer some CPU-power in this regard as well. Too bad they might not end up with Quad-Channel DDR4 though. Their iGPU could really use that bandwidth. If there's HBM, it's gonna be rather expensive.
We'll see. there sure is going to be another "Athlon X4" with a disabled iGPU. I wonder how cheap it's gonna be. Fully-fledged cores, this time.
