Define "fixed."
>>
You can try and put sprinkles on a turd.

Still a turd.
>>
>>59061620
You mean have other des caught up yet?
Gnome is the only one with proper High Dpi scaling along with unity
>>
>pixel saver
>Arc theme
All it needs bby
>>
>>59061717
Also the only one with a dynamic creation and deletion of workspaces.
>>

its dead jim

As long as it doesn't come with a fucking application panel without having to hack the system, no
>>
>>59061918

"high dpi scaling" done wrong
>>
>>59061979
What's wrong with it?
>>
>>59061987
system tray icons dont scale
some objects dont scale
some applications dont scale
bigger font =/= scaling
>>
>>59061620
Nah, it still drops to around 5 FPS while opening the Activities menu with more than 2 Apps(tm) open.
That's on a 4 core Skylake laptop. Does the same on my Desktop on Intel, Nvidia and AMD GPUs.
>>
>>59062094
I've seen those scale just fine. When did you last use KDE?
>>
>>59062122
somewhere around last fall on kde neon
>>
>>59061620
No.
It still takes 30 minutes to open the applications menu.
>>
>>59063284
Excellent hardware right there, poorfag hobo

It's not available on devuan yet, so no.
>>
>>59062094
Yes, scaling is working fine, the only problem is that it does not accept fractional numbers (e.g. 1.5) and, on my computer, 1 is too small and 2 is too big.
>>
>>59063709
>the only problem is that it does not accept fractional numbers
This. 0.01

GNOME still can't do something that macos could do in 2001.
>>
>>59064195
Ability to actually close when close button is pressed?
>>
>>59064195
macOS still can't add a repository to pkgsrc, distros have been doing this since the 90's.
>>
>>59064195
This is a really bad meme
Ubuntu gnome has thumbnails for me in Nautilus
>>
>>59064288
Nautilus isn't a file picker, it's a file manager.
Learn the difference, noob ass.
>>
>>59064326
But the file picker when using Firefox gives a preview, is that really so much worse though than thumbnails?
>>
>>59064344
Yes, but your average Ubuntero doesn't understand the joys of easily posting images on imageboards as they're mostly casual posters

LMAO... Loonix literally has dozens of update mechanisms.

Stay mad poorfag. Keep on using that garbage.
>>
>>59064815
Uh what distro has more than one package manager?
>>
>>59063284
Just press Super or throw your mouse into the top right corner of the screen, it's actually very quick.
>>
>>59064648
Homebrew is the biggest piece of shit ever

I had heard people talk it up as if it single handedly solved the package manager issue of MacOS; it's worse than god damned chocolatey on Windows for fucks sake

And this is a measure of quality how? Most people use Windows, does that make it good?

Poor retards use Windows. And gaymers. Go pass Google/FB interview process and then tell me these people aren't some of the smartest people on the planet. When smartest people use something, and they have the choice of using anything in the world, I'd consider their opinion a lot more than an opinion of some NEET on /g/.
>>
>>59066796
They use osx because it's the best OS for programming and the laptops have great support for when something fucks up

They use homebrew because package management is necessary in this century of computing and it's the best available on osx even though it's really shit

Also, anybody who works at a real company that isn't computer focused uses windows. Manufacturing, research, business, etc all have windows developed software
>>

>When smartest people use something, and they have the choice of using anything in the world, I'd consider their opinion a lot more than an opinion of some NEET on /g/.
Do you not understand what "measure of quality" is? You're not explaining why something is good, you're going "well these really smart people use it so it MUST be good". You don't know if they're using it because they absolutely love it. For example, lots of Google devs use Macs because they're the only machines where they can develop for all 3 major OS's. And they use homebrew because it's the only way to get decent development tools on a Mac.
