Why are digitizers good for drawing but so shit for writing? What about writing makes it so hard to get right?

Humans write small and very fast so the computer takes a shit all over the information it receives from the digitizer.
what kind of digitizer tech are you talking about specifically? i've only had experience with wacom tablets but have never had a problem writing with them.

I've used wacom digitizers like Bamboo, Samsung Note, and Thinkpad x220. Also Surface Pro. They were all shit for writing.

Because they provide a notable benefit when drawing, namely colour/tool availability and flawless erasing. This makes up for the fact that you're less accurate than on paper. Meanwhile with writing you're entirely focused on speed and accuracy, the fact that erasing makes it look a bit ugly doesn't matter.

Write the same thing on paper and scan it, just out of curiosity.
