my charger got wet and when I plugged in my phone, smoke came out of the port
after looking at the port I saw a little green corrosion( probably copper oxide)
I tried using another charger and it works
could there any long term damage and should I worry?

Yeah. The water has very likely rusted the contacts and at this point it's a literal ticking timebomb. I would replace asap.
