Anyone hear or read about a problem with webpages not loading even when you know you are have a internet connection, they just keep trying to load, no 404 or "no internet connection"?
I think it is probably related to either Avast, or windows defender, if one of the new updates of it is fucking with things.
Writing this all up on an old XP laptop, which of course is fine.

As an aside, I noticed this happen last night. But just assumed my internet was down. I turned off the computer and went to bed instead of investigating.
I disabled windows defender and restarted. seems fine now.
curious if anyone else experienced this.
Yesterday I updated Avast and ran some quick scans since I never do this
Decided to run Windows Defender too after, why not
Nothing came up on either, but I think I may have turned WD on when it didnt need to be
Probably just the two conflincting with each other. But I dont know why it affected the browser at night rather than when I first did it, since I ran them during the day/morning and it stopped working closer to midnight.
