Chrome doesn't spy on its users. It just tracks your global search history and saves it for you, especially if you're using a google account.
Degenerates here believe that browser history is the root of all evil so Chrome is basically the Satan himself.

In the real world, however, search history is used to adjust your search results and make Google ads that are used all over the internet more relevant for you personally.
Even if you're using a google account, you can disable that feature if you're paranoid.
