Hey /g/ did I find a decent deal for my toaster?
The seller only wants 45$ for it.
I paid $55 6 months ago for a 2GB version
Great card for HTPC and even to play some games if you don't get to pretentious (720p, low-medium settings)
What do you need it for?
Even if you weren't getting it for gaming. I personally would save up and get a GTX 1050 for around $95. It's 5x stronger compared to the GT 730. Also HDMI 2.0 support for 4k HDR screens, while the GT 730 is not capable of this.
Or a RX 460 for $80 would be also a good choice.
I was also looking at a 1GB DDR5 graphics card, but my CPU probably won't be able to handle the clock speed. Still though I'm staring at that 4GB and 128-bits. I'm not sure if that width will allow me to use all that memory.

I'm running on a Intel duo Q9550 , not sure if changing to a xeon would be any different.

Get a used gtx 760 for 60-70 bucks instead

Now why the fuck would I do that?

You pretty much have close to the top in terms of power for the LGA775 socket. Upgrading to the top processor (Q9550) would show little benefit.

While a GTX 760 is great for $60, the gtx 1050 requires half the energy to power it up, which is safe to assume any normal desktop power supply can handle it.

thats a very shitty graphics card. i would save up some money and get something nice

If you go to the AMD side you can find a 7850, which is about as powerful as a ps4 for around the same price. I picked one up for my $300 toaster build three years ago and it still holds up

Its a neat entry level card bud
i picked up a gtx 770 for 100$ (AUD)
i plan on upgrading once i get other priorities out of the way
