If I'm too lazy to build my own computer, is it worth getting one of the new XPS Towers? i7-6700, 16GB DDR4, GTX 1070, all for about $1800 Ausbux ($1100 in USA)

That is a good deal. If you got the cash then prebuilts are typically worth the extra couple hundred bucks to have it made for you and sent to your home ready to use. Also you got the joy of having extended warranties for all the parts of the machine.
