I'm having some trouble with my dual monitor setup.

When I try to hooking them up to my gpu (R9 380) on HDMI and DP connections then run them at 60ghz not 59ghz line glitches appears.
They only disappear while I connect the DP to the GPU and then HDMI to the motherboard.
Any way to fix this so I can disable the onboard graphic?

The options aren't stated as a/b/g/n/whatever. I get 54, 154, and 300 as options, all with "up to" as a part of the package. The internet it's hooked up to only does 3mbps and I don't do any files between so I couldn't care less about how fast it actually is. It also doesn't have to be an extreme difference in range.

At this point the best way to know is to try, I suppose.

You can put SSD's anywhere. They aren't affected by ambient heat levels of your typical PC and even extreme cases are unlikely to degrade performance. The plastic will probably melt before an SSD has performance issues with heat.

I don't know much about TVs, I've never dealt much with them. I have an older TV, it's HD and all but it's not some fancy modern Smart TV.

For a while I've been using my PS3 for streaming stuff like Netflix and Plex, but it's dying out and I don't really have interest in getting another game console. I've been considering a Roku as a cheap solution.

The problem I have is with audio, my TV has it's own built in speakers obviously and when watching cable the sound goes out through those speakers. But my PS3 is hooked up to a pretty old surround sound system via auxiliary, with HDMI into the TV itself. I can of course plug the surround sound into the TV to have surround sound there but then the PS3 is using the TV speakers. So I leave it in the PS3 for movies and suffer the TV speakers for news and sports.

I know my way around a computer, so this is something that seems like it should be possible to me but I'm not sure. Can I set up the TV in a way that it outputs all audio through the surround sound system, so that anything connected just through HDMI will use that for audio instead of the TV's speakers? Is that something dependant on model or can any TV do that.

if it crashes before that line in your try/catch then later your
>var countTotalPages = listView1.Items.Cast<ListViewItem>().Sum(item => Parse(item.SubItems[3].Text));

SubItems[3] does NOT contain a number, so it'll throw an exception because it can't parse it, thus stopping your loop.
Your debugger should have stopped on that line when throwing the exception, did you just ignore it?

This is spaghetti code anon. Converting numbers to text and later parsing them again right away.

Hey guys,

Just got a set of speakers for my PC but they came with this thing as the power source and i dont have a clue of what to do with it.

I live in Spain and i checked around the house to see if i had another charger with the same Amper outlet but i havent had luck so im stucked with this guy.

Any tips on what should i do or what adapter should i look for?

Thanks
>>
>>59001794
Looks like its an attachment point for different types of plugs, look for another part with the correct plug
>>
>>59001794
It should have come with an adapter. If it didn't, any power supply with the same voltage and *at least as much* current/amps should work. Where in Spain?
>>
>>59001713
It's an init system and a collection of important userland components. The idea behind the project being to create a centralized set of building blocks for a basic Linux system, with accountability and code being in one project. This is opposed to the previous solution, which was composed of pieces developed by different people in different projects.

You will never need to look at it, you will never need to touch it, and it is of no more concern to most people than what your kernel timer interrupt frequency is, or what scheduler your kernel is configured to use.

just get an unmodified XP SP3 VL iso, only need a serial number which you can find anywhere, and has no activation system
stock XP sp3 needs only about 1.5G disk space, and uses around 70-90M ram sitting at the desktop
i doubt your CAM software will be demanding much, anything capable of running XP at all should do the job

that's right, it's the Volume Licensing version, aka "corporate edition", unlike retail, it has no activation system

just what comes with it normally
if it doesn't have the sata driver for your machine, then set the machines' BIOS to IDE compatibility mode, then install the SATA driver, and change the BIOS back

So the other day I posted a question about creating a linked list of nodes, pic related. I figured out how to do this in a program structure, but now I can't figure how the algorithm I need to make sure that all the nodes are reachable by any other node.

I've been looking for algorithms, but they all seem to worry about shortest path, loops, etc.

Is there an algorithm to just simply check that all nodes are reachable regardless of potential loops or how long it takes to reach them?

Thanks in advance.

>Please don't just say "no linux support", what does that mean?
It means that games very often don't have binaries made for Linux and to make matters worse, they're often made in DirectX, which is Windows-only.

>What is it that linux lacks that requires having to emulate windows?
Mostly it's about DirectX. It's closed source, so you can't "emulate" it just like that. I believe Wine has more or less complete support for D3D9(which actually means that it translates the API calls to OpenGL for the operating system and GPU drivers), but good luck getting anything D3D10 or later to work properly.

Windows (and its closed source packages) is the default OS that games are coded for. So it's a huge uphill battle just to make things work on Mac or Linux, let alone to reach equal efficiency. And for the developers of the game itself it's often not worth trying to support a second platform. It's kind of like how windows gets all the good malware.

Yes. The advertised clockrate is the maximum(or rather, the maximum sustained - the actual maximum is the boost clock). If the GPU isn't being stressed, it'll downclock itself to save electricity(which also means less noise, as less cooling capacity is needed). The same applies to CPUs as well.
>>

>Because closed source software is the anesthetic

Just the opposite. Closed source generates the maximum amount of pain. If you get locked into close source, you have no choices when they decide to screw you.

With closed source, there is no second vendor you can buy from, and there is no developer you can hire to fix the bugs or add the features you need. You put yourself entirely at the mercy of one company, and you become their little bitch. Buying closed source is literally like buying the services of a dominatrix. You spend the money because you want to feel the pain and humiliation.

cat lists what's in a file
less will do the same, except let you scroll through it
grep lets you look through some input for a particular bit of text. It's useful with piping

cat myfile.txt | grep magic
this will match highlight anyinstances of "magic" in your file.

& on the end will run something in the background.

just experiment to find the rest

When I turn on my computer, the fans spin up for a couple seconds and then it shuts off. If I repeat this several times (20 or so, varies greatly) it will boot ok and stay on indefinitely.

This problem has appeared every winter and disappeared every summer for a few years.

This time, once it manages to boot, it does not stay on indefinitely. It shuts off within a minute or two. Sometimes it gets to the desktop and I can use it for a few seconds, sometimes it shuts down before outputting any video.

Have you ever written a function that has random behaviour even though there's no aspect of randomness?

>>
>>59005367
You mean commands.
There's lots of websites with bash tutorials and how-tos.
Navigating around (cd) and (ls) to list directory contents is the basics.
Eventually you'll learn to create your own little scripts and aliases and functions. When you learn something cool, save a little text file so you don't forget it.
type <command> will tell you if a command is a binary (/usr/bin or such) an alias, a shell keyword, a shell builtin command, a hashed command or a shell function.
"type -a ls" tells you ls is a binary and also aliased.
man <command> will give you the manual.
info <command>
help .... for keywords and builtins (some also have man pages)
info pages.
file <file> gives some info
whatis <command> gives a description and list of man pages. (such as man 6 <command>)

Thanks, I guesss it shouldn't be a permanent solution then. I hope I don't have to buy a new mainboard just because that cable port is shitty.

Any advice would be great /g/
Trying to fix my sisters computer.
I gave her my old i7 960 and mobo (p6t deluxe. no onboard video) shes got an hd 6850 gpu.
She says she tried to turn it on and there is now no display. All fans spin up. Was working for many years before this.

I thought the gpu had died but it works in my pc. It's not the monitor and i've tried the display port, hdmi, and dvi. So then i thought the pci slot died. tried the next one and still nothing. I moved her one stick of ram to 2 other slots and it still wouldn't work.

I'm going to try my ram in it first and then try clearing cmos.

Any other ideas of what to try that i can add to the list while I'm at work?

Anybody know why whenever I start up a game it starts off "frozen" for like 15 seconds before starting to load?
>>

First you should boot the computer up on the integrated graphics of the CPU, then install drivers for your GPU. From there, look for a setting in BIOS.

Is it because the email provider has a setup where Inbox is the root folder and Trash is below it?

if you're sure it's not the power cable and the mobo is within warranty just RMA it.

Is 4chan not loading some images for other people?

Every so often I'll get an image that just wont load. If I open it in a new tab it'll typically halt at 'establishing secure connection'. After a moment I can refresh the image and it'll load. This is particularly an issue with webms. I can sometimes force them to load by right clicking and selecting 'Download Link...'

How do I make something out of my life?

>like computers as a kid
>love math in primary
>discover programming in high school
>currently first year of CS
>still doing fucking NOTHING

I feel like a retard cuz all I ever did was shitty problems for competitive programming (didnt go beyond federal level in a shitty 3rd world country) and the only application I made was a shitty .NET three-branch circuit current calculator for school, in VS.
I spent five fucking days on installing and configuring fucking Arch (fell for the meme) and I barely managed to hack up a functional system with CDM and i3wm. Can't figure out how sound drivers work, can't listen to fucking music.
I'm also depressed as fuck, socially autistic and unironically hate my family. Computers are the only thing that keeps me sane besides weed, and I'm not even good at making them do what I want.

How do I make something out of my life, /g/? At least land a job in IT or smtn?

Telemetry updates. If you're a goymer like the good goy you appear to be, Steam will have all the updates you need for your games because all good games package in redistributable installers without having you go to windows updates.
