What are the good methods of screencaping?
Are there any tools (or recommended software)
or do you just take screenshots, crop them and stick a screencap together in your graphics editor of choice?
Pic unrelated;

I use the windows snipping tool all the time, works great

i use greenshot and it saves everything automatically in my dropbox public folder but apparently they remove the public folder soon or smth or wont let me copy public links directly

been doing it for years and came up with the method myself

yeah man print-paste-edit-saveit
i used to use an extension for google chrome that would totally screencap the entire thread and then you could edit it before you saved it.

I just downloaded this little thing right here, HERE: http://www.appchangelog.com/extension/15/Awesome-Screenshot:-Capture-&-Annotate
Because of your own post. Comes handy sometimes having this tool.

maim and slop, combined with a script that opens a rofi screen asking me whether I want to upload my image (which gives me a notification when it's done uploading, the url will be in my clipboard) or save it, and two keybinds: one for taking a picture of the entire screen, and the other passes the -s option to the script to let me select a portion.

Pressing some secret handshake hotkey command give me fucking cancer every time.

At the moment, I just use PrintScreen and Alt+ PrintScreen and then Ctrl + Alt + V in Paint.net.
>>
>>58991740
Skip pasting it in paint and just save it straight to a folder.

MacOS does more because there's more numbers but I wouldnt expect you to be able to keep up at this point.
>>
I use greenshot on windows.
Its breddy gud.

Just replaces the prtscn button with a region selector, still allows you to use alt+prtscn etc to capture whole windows.
