Posting from a mid-2012 13" i7 MBP. To this day the best investment I've ever made. It has paid for itself over and over, has never failed, and the perception that a MacBook Pro affords you is unrivaled. In my opinion one of the best non-essential products ever made.

And to think, Lenovo was releasing the T430, HP in that era remains unmentionable. This is my first and only Mac, but damn I respect it.

Perfect laptop Operating system in my opinion. I don't like windows on laptops because most come with shit bloatware, then I'll have to do a clean install.

Did the past macbooks really have that problem? I own a 2010 "vintage" white macbook. Although the battery life is very bad (which I was warned about when buying), it does the job well for me. Mavericks & Mountain lion works great.

I just liked the unibody design on the post 2010 models. Along with an i5 processor, ssd + Hard drive, 8 GB or so of ram on Mavericks and it'll smooth through basic applications. I don't play any heavy games so it works great for me.

I don't know what course apple is taking with these new "macbooks" though. It's like whoever is in charge of that area has gone mental.

i like the 2016 MacBook Pro 13, although i'd get the non touch bar version. however, my 2015 MBP 13 is still doing fine so it's not really that much of an upgrade. if someone offered me to trade, i'd be game

we'll see about the next year, when they've had a second crack at this design. i honestly don't really mind the whole dongleverse thing. my mx master is bluetooth, the combination usb sticks (see pic related) aren't expensive, and i already use an adapter. USB C is really sweet and is nice to have going forward.

i totally get that some people don't want to switch over yet, and i do think that's sort of an alienating factor. The 7S or 8 better come with a USB-A to Lightning and USB-C to Lighting cable in the box. That, or maybe the next iPhone will be USB-C, which would be nice. Apple would be going in the right direction to remove special snowflake ports and go all USB-C

Still running El Capitan because every upgrade fucked something up. Yeah, it eventually got fixed but I'd rather wait until macOS is little more mature.
Quite happy I can run everything I need with nearly zero system meddling.

I've had an Air since 2014 and it's really the perfect commuter laptop, ideally I would be just buying a new one of these, but since they're gone I'm thinking non-tp MBP, but I'd rather see them have another crack at it. What does /g/ think?

I really do like MacBooks, i have a 2013 Air at the moment and i was thinking "maybe it is time to upgrade" since i'd like something with a nicer display, more internal storage, more RAM.

Unfortunately the double whammy of brexit's currency drop and Apple's price hike has just about pushed it over my reasonable price range (lets say the ballpark of £1000-1200) - I'll either wait for a refurbished model and see if that has a decent enough discount or go for a PC, since i have no qualms about windows.

XPS 13 or Surface Pro are probably my main post-mac candidates.

Oh well, sorry for the blog.
