>that complete radio silence from Intel camp after numerous leaks show Zen cores with equal IPC to Skylake
What a time to be alive
>>58988624
Reported for wierd fetish shit.
>>58988638
So pure.
>>58988624
I doubt AMD is actually going to surpass Intel
But it will be nice for them to have to drop their fucking prices a bit.
>>58988672
It doesn't need to, it needs to be within 90-100% of Intel's per core performance while offering more cores and better power usage at a low price.
>>58988624
>weebshit
I don't care what the leaks are I want real reviews from real trusted sources before I make a judgement
That doesn't look very sanitary.
>>58988765
Suzuya's saliva is cleaner than a fab cleanroom.
>>58988624
so maybe for once they're on par with Intel, probably not, but even then the most optimistic thing you can say is that its "equal"
let me tell you why no one gives a shit that it costs less, AMD is never going to be seen as anything but the lesser brand. they're never going to escape that identity, AMD is cheap shit, Intel is what "enthusiasts" use, thats what people see and that perception is never going to change, because AMD is happy to control the low end market.
even if after all this time they finally caught up, no one is going to care. no one currently using intel is going to switch to AMD, the only people excited about it are people who already like AMD, and therein lies the problem. they arn't creating any new customers.
>>58988816
Right, because being equal to the current market best is somehow bad.
Hey, tell me, how much longer is Intel gonna be on Skylake-tier IPC? 2-3 years? Coffelake is 6 core Kabylake, so no change, cannonlake is dieshrink skylake, no architecture change. Well enough for AMD to leap over them with their brand new architecture they said will be upgraded every year.
Also most people are still on shitty dual cores, lowering the median price of quad to 8 cores will do good for all of us.
>>58988624
uhm source?
>>58988881
It's in the fucking image jesus christ.
>>58988910
ah did not see. my boner was in the way
Even worse: pic related.
>>58988846
except they won't. AMD will always play it safe, because they're content dominating the low end market. the *only* thing that might happen is it will force Intel to actually compete, and AMD can't sustain the fight for top dog
>>58989293
AMD hasn't played it safe for years, else they wouldn't put near experimental chips on the market like the SSG or Fury, and now Summit Ridge and Naples.
You're clueless.
>>58989308
lol. "near experimental" i.e no real investment from the company to actually push a competing product and attack Intel's marketshare. this is the first time in a long time that they've made a sustained effort to take ground from Intel, and they'll end up backing off like always.
>>58988624
I bet you have not been around long enough (most likely still in your teen years) to know how big corporations operate.
Intel is so big they can literally act like AMD doesn't exist at all. They don't have to publish benchmark, tell people what of their products compete with AMDs counterparts or even aknowledge that AMD exists.
NVIDIA does the same thing all the time. They never mention AMD in their marketing materials, only compare their current gen products to their own last gen products.
I'd actually have more faith in AMD Ryzen if Intel was forced to react in some concrete way to it's existence. It is about 100% certain that Intel has all Ryzen performance metrics trough industrial espionage already. Had they felt threatened by Ryzen they would have already announced price cuts, especially to their i3 and i5 range.
In corporate world basically only the underdog has to compare their products to the competitor to prove their value to the customer.
>>58989411
Don't pull age with me you underage pissant, the mere fact that you stated that Intel would lower prices at all means you haven't been watching this market longer than 6 years, which just makes your opinion irrelevant.
>>58989440
Intel did multiple price cuts during the time AMD was actually competitive and gaining marketshare:
https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/79328-intel-cuts-core-2-quad-processor-price-in-half
http://money.cnn.com/1999/08/23/technology/intel/
https://www.cnet.com/news/intel-cuts-pentium-4-prices/
These days remind me of olf Pentium 1 days when Pentium released in 1993 and it took 3 years for it to get any real competition in form of Cyrix 6x86 and Intel could ask what ever they wanted for their CPUs.
>all these fags that are too young to remember the Opteron 165
Intel has got it's ass kicked before.
>>58988765
>caring about sanitarity when you have that cutie caressing your dick
>>58989508
>https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/79328-intel-cuts-core-2-quad-processor-price-in-half
AMD was never competitive again after core launched, so this is simply a way to get more people on the 4 core platform.
The other one is before 2000 and blood Netburst, which nobody would buy even if it was a third of the price unless they suffered brain damage.
>>58988816
>>58988846
>>58989293
You know, I distinctly remember a period where AMD was beating Intel on price AND performance from the Athlon XP through the Athlon 64
And people just fucking bought Intel anyway. They accepted Intel's Netburst and RDRAM garbage and they happily spent thousands of dollars shoveling it into their mouths.
>>58989928
I've still never touched a stick of RDRAM
kinda feels bad
>>58988624
Ugh, I am sick of hearing about AMD succeeding. It was bad enough when they were "bad" and every toon I played Toontown with would say how much more stable my game would be if I was on AMD and how my computer is actually unstable garbage. This is like them having the last laugh. I need some Intel supporters bashing AMD, I feel threatened as an individual and not just a consumer!

I'm a christcuck and even I thought it was pretty funny. Lighten up.
>>58989928
Like look at this shit and then keep in mind it's $200 to $300 AMD CPUs competing with $1,000 Intel CPUs
And then keep in mind Intel still somehow maintained 60% market share even during that period
>>58988624
>not being sceptical about leaks
>not learning shit from rx480 meme
SKYLAKE WAS LAST GEN
KABY LAKE IS NEW
>>58991872
So new there's even workloads where it's slower than Skylake.
>rumors of AMD maybe showing up to play finally
>still slower than krabby
>actual release will be worse
>nothing changes
AMD MIGHT FINALLY BE COMPETING WITH 2015
>>58990224
i don't think the 3.2ghz pentium 4 was 1000 dollars...
>>58991986
>posting loser niggercuck
>>58992063
It's a metaphor.
>>58989928
brand identity is everything. like I said, AMD will never escape that perception wether its true or not
>>58992063
>Obama
>Losing
Lmao he won the election twice, and also the popular vote. Stay salty /pol/tard.
This is possibly the last sexual fetish that still horrifies me.

I just sold my 6700K and motherboard this week so I can pick an 1800X up at launch. Many apologies, my dear shill. I hope Ryzen doesn't put you out of a job. :^(
