>>
>>58983047
They started to force UI changes on us. From this point on it started to get harder and harder to make firefox look the way the consumer wanted. At the end of the year it will look just like all the other browsers.

What the fuck were they thinking

If microsoft can't gain a foothold in mobile then it's a lost battle especially if your OS has no benefit over android with firefox installed

The Chromium project happened. Took a little while for the bugs to work out of it, but in today's bloated web development industry, it's hard to compete with a Javascript engine that runs practically at the speed of compiled C++.

Mostly this, there team leads decided to copy Chrome feature for feature rather than just make improvements to Firefox. They should have added a "chromify it up" toggle in the settings menu or something instead of pushing it in the default builds.

Fail? it still has a way bigger market share than when I started using it in the first place.

It's a matter of principle. Even if it is becoming a slightly worse browser compared to the competition, it still fulfills any need I have, and it actually cares about the open web.

SJWs
>>
>>58983053
This.

They lost all their actual talent because of this, and they have been suiciding ever since. For example, the one thing that still makes them stand out is the level of customization users have.

So what is Mozilla doing? Leveraging that and using it as a major selling point? Nope, they are ripping it out by its roots and becoming a crappy chrome knock off instead.

for those who dont know what happened, basically this:

>original firefox creator and CTO of mozilla, also inventer of Javascript
>has a view on social issues just like everyone else does
>happens to be against gay marriage
>SJW's, feminists, and other left wing nut jobs just can't accept the fact that someone disagrees with them
>he constantly got harassed and was literally forced to resign himself

That's why Mozilla is such a shit hole now. I mean, just go to mozilla's website. Looks like a donation page for starving children in Africa.

easy if it doesn't negatively impact your life, but laws have been actively oppressing gays forever, because the bible told them to

just one example that changed for me this year: i went from getting 2.5k back on taxes to 8k by being (finally) allowed to legally marry. that type of bullshit is what forces activism.

and the retards who get married 3 times, like the current president who has children with 3 different mothers, had more rights than I did, and got more benefits, and didn't have to get special forms to have visitation in hospitals.

so if you're in the MAJORITY, how about not actively fucking over the people in the minority before you get angry at them for making noise.

What drove the Democrat Party into the ground is that they didn't realize that half of the US believe that there's someone out to get them and they're either rich or a minority and if we could only get rid of those people they'd be better off.

Feature creep, and people endlessly defend each stupid little thing they add no matter how much it adds to the bloat. Nobody in the Mozilla Foundation has the balls to say "enough is enough". Ultimately FF needs to be forked again, just like it was a fork from Netscape Communicator in the beginning.

>>58983047

All of their social media is Vivaldi, Buzzfeed & MTV tier political garbage
But here is the catch though
How much of the company and it's software do the edgy and hip marketing team employees represent?
Do these social justice values reflect or affect the software in any way?
Is the future or Firefox going to be skewed into a SJW shitfest or has Mozilla always had these fashionable nu-male values?

Chrome is an interface abortion too. Firefox's trick is that you can change the interface into something reasonable.
>>
>>58989657
Wrong. They people complaining were not important. Listening to them created a non-issue and killed FF in the process.
>>
>>58989657
The people who perceived it as an issue are the type of obnoxious social justice cunts who simply cannot be satisfied ever. Bowing to leftist social pressure has never once had a positive effect for a company.
>>
>>58996353
The interface and making it retard-proof. Each update since Australis removes features for the sake of "ease of use" and "safety" or bloats the browser with shit like Pocket that should have stayed an extension since Firefox already could manage bookmarks. The move toward XUL depreciation and toward a WebExtensions-only add-on environment means that meaningful UI customization will no longer be possible.

Firefox built itself on being better than Internet Explorer and being customizable out the ass, and it has been dying trying to chase Chrome. There's no such thing as a browser for power users anymore. Opera gave up years ago. If you use the Internet for anything more than social networking and YouTube, you're no longer welcome on any browser.
>>
>>58996558

What a man. There he goes, contributing labour to the next generation of workers. It's almost like that's what governments have historically been paying for by subsidizing marriage - men and women to fuck and make babies so that the country will have a labor pool for the next generation. It's almost like governments are paying to obtain a natural resource for the country.

But I guess taxing everybody in a country to give money to people who decide to pair off "for life" or until lawyers get involved and dissolve the union is also totally worth the government's time. The government should totally be involved in subsidizing happiness alone.

>>
>>58997467
The technical questions were pre-planned (I'm talking about coding questions).

The questions were basically : reverse a JS array (without using .reverse()), find the sum of a JS array, and another one which I forget about the same difficulty.

Basically if you know map/forEach, it's a piece of cake. The irony was that after presenting the questions, the interviewer said "you can use Google if you want". I literally spent 10 seconds trying to see if they were trick questions or if there were special conditions or anything. Nope. Done in 3 minutes with test cases. "Wow that was faster than I expected."

And this wasn't some junior intern kind of person. This was a pretty important cog in the wheel.

The problem is this: the kind of talent that they need would rather work pretty much anywhere else. The kind of talent that they get is not the level of talent that they need to keep Mozilla from dying.

Oddly I haven't even heard back from them yet. Their HR is broken too.
