Fucking off yourself matey-o
>>
lol you need to leave kid.
>>
why?
>>
>>58953273
According to your graphic, your subnet is 2, try changing that.. Usually 1 or 0 unless you are on repeater..
>>
>>58953320
don't help the skid.
>>
>>58953320
im studting to be a pen tester and in the class i was taking it said to use the ip under gateway when you enter route -n so thats what i was trying to do. How would i know what to change the subnet to?
>>
>>58953273
And also, your ipv4 address looks wrong.. it's usually 192.168.1.1
>>
>>58953346
you have to brute the arp backend to apply the direct subnet stack
>>
Im not trying to "hack" anyone or whatever by the way im honestly just trying to learn to be an ethical hacker. i only work with virtual machines or machines i have permission to work on
>>
>>58953320
Like I said, subnet is usually 1 or 0, but could be 2 as well
>>
>>58953273
install gentoo
>>
>>58953349
yeah i thought it looked weird but its what my instructor said to do and hes not answering me back on how to fix it
>>
>>58953357
it's fucking nat provided by virtualbox you idiot. jesus christ. complete and utter skid. now get off my board and go hack some rupees you stupid sand nigger.
>>
>>58953349
10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 is also private adress
>>
>>58953379
chill man. and im not arab haha i just wanted some help for my class. what ip should i be using then?
>>
>>58953349
There is one private IP range in Class A, B and C respectively.
A: 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
B: 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
C: 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

You should know these.
>>
should i use my public ip instead?
>>
>>58953405
k fine. your vm is under a nat provided by your hypervisor.. change the forwarding settings in your hypervisor and forward traffic to your host ip in your router config.
>>
>>58953436
alright ill try that thanks
>>
>>58953442
get fucked.
>>
>>58953450
i mean it is valentines day so thats pretty fitting to say lol

uh, you're getting an error about subnet, but no subnet is posted. An address in CIDR is kinda meaningless without one.

Is this /32? /24? /16?

10.0.2.0/24 would be a different subnet from 10.0.1.0/24.
10.0.0.1/22 would be on the same subnet as 10.0.3.254/22.

my recommendation would be get so you can do these in your head
then never ever do them in your head and always use a tool

>ipcalc - pic related
>>
>>58953544
it's been figured out. read the thread.
>>
>>58953596
rereading - 0 or 1 or 2 is not a subnet. are you suggesting they're all /24 or something? I don't see that stated either.

At no point in this whole thread can I see how many bits of that address are dedicated to network address and how many bits are dedicated to the hosts address.

Is this like a Kali default or something?
>>
>>58953702
It's a vm ip address provided by the dhcp server on virtualbox. he was getting the ip from within the vm. no doubt. given his lack of networking knowledge and access to the port forwarding it's pretty safe to assume his router is not a 10.x ip, as they are extremely rare defaults. 10.0.2.x are the default networks issued by the "NAT" configuration dhcp server in virtualbox.
>>
>>58953349
Get out of /g/ normie, and never come back. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>
>>58953273

Why would you expose Kali Linux to the internet? Kali isn't meant for that, at all.
>>
>>58953355
This is the only reply of actual use
>>
>>58953428
I use 172.16 myself, because no one does.
