This with Opera Mini. It was my main phone until moving to Murrica a year ago (Euro dual band version so no go across the pond).

Could post from it too, only captchas were a pain in the ass because you had to copy and paste about three pages of their hash every time because js didn't work. I don't know they still fall back to that.

I post here from an SGI Visual Workstation sometimes, I guess it's not really that weird since it still runs Winshit (special modified NT4 or 2K only) but under the hood it's pretty much 100% proprietary (including ARCS firmware instead of a BIOS) except for the expansion buses and the use of PIII Xeons instead of MIPS R12ks like their O2 relatives

Yes you can only listen in to society and see what you are missing, but are doomed to never enjoy it. Just like the rest of your life.

notice how no shit-pc in this thread has any reply to it from another shit-pc user, that's proof on how they are all hipsters and secretly hate each other.

Legacy captcha doesn't seem to work on my SS20 in Netscape.

I could probably get it working if I installed a newer browser on the system. I think Firefox 2.0 or Dillo or some shit should compile fine. Problem is that I'm running SPARC Solaris 7 on it so there aren't a ton of packages out there.

I could also upgrade the OS to something newer (which would work just fine, it has 256MB RAM), but I like having it run 90s Solaris, since it goes with the system so well.

my phone, it's a flip phone I bought last year (or the year before) that probably hasn't had its hardware or software updated in years
I was actually looking extensively yesterday for a flip phone with a touch screen and Android
for some stupid reason they refuse to sell flip phones with touch screens here in burgerland unless they're old Blackberry phones with whatever proprietary shit that has or other old things with again proprietary OS's
all of the ones that do have a modern OS are fucking huge
why can't they have a small, pixel-dense touch screen in a normal-sized flip phone running a modern OS? I don't care if I have to use a stylus, I don't really care about the touch screen, I just know it's """required""" for certain things

Wii U.
Its browser is actually surprisingly competent. In fact I think I've actually spent more time on the browser than I have playing games on the damn thing. It supports HTML5, but not Flash for some retarded reason. I'm pretty sure the original Wii actually supported Flash, so I have no clue why it doesn't.

>Development for TempleOS began in 2003 after Davis suffered from a series of manic episodes that left him briefly hospitalized for mental health issues.[1][4]

Davis is a former atheist who believes that he can "talk with God" and that God told him the operating system he built was God's official temple. According to Davis TempleOS is of 'Divine' intellect due to the inspired nature of the code. According to Davis, God said to create the operating system with 640x480, 16 colors display and a single audio voice. The operating system was coded in a programming language developed by Davis in C/C++ called "HolyC". The OS runs a file system called "Red Sea".[2]

"manic episodes" says it all, he has severe bipolar disorder
people think "well mania is at the opposite end of the scale from depression, and people have said it feels good, it can't be that bad", but at the far reaches of mania people can become overconfident to the point they think they can do things like fly or breathe underwater, they can develop severe anxiety, they can become paranoid, they can hallucinate... it's a mess
this is borne out by how he's said in a lot of interviews and such that he thinks the CIA is spying on him-- that's the delusions of persecution and paranoia

Dude I just threw one of those out at work. It was doing BIND for our department still, had been in service for like 17 years or something.

The key thing to turn it on didn't work so you had to jiggle it if the power ever went out and downtime exceeded the battery backups (happened twice)

Not him, but the scrolling behaviour makes it shit more than anything. You can't just flick through a page like you can on a phone - it's more like hitting page down very slowly.
Also, Amazon deserves to have its headquarters bombed for not letting you download PDFs from the browser.

Free world-round 3G and a barebones linux, with just enough space and features to toy around with. The audio chip is actually really fun, if quiet. I use it mostly to play some white noise sounds to help me sleep. Amazon do kind of monitor your every move but you can block them out if you're clever.

It sips battery, the side effect of which is that it should last forever.

>What the hell was the point of these? They were just standard x86 hardware
The point was that they /weren't/ standard, those Xeons are about the closest thing to an off-the-shelf part in them, they otherwise share far more in common with the O2 than they do any run-of-the-mill PC, and their insane OGL performance and memory bandwidth showed it.

>and they still cost as much as real MIPS-based SGI workstations.
But in the end you'd probably end up paying less by being able to run less expensive software on Windows NT, as well as having a system that could also be better used for general-purpose tasks on the side. At least that's probably how SGI felt about it, in the end while they were easily the fastest things that could run Windows around they were still too much for not a whole lot of ultimate benefit.

Have just barely gotten an old beast of a laptop to connect to a wireless network, but the 16-bit PCMCIA card can't do anything above WEP. Luckily, I just found my PCMCIA to ethernet adapter, so I ought to try that out soon. Highly doubt it'll be able to launch IE without catching fire, though.

I've been lurking 4chan daily on a PSP for the past 6+ years on the shitty default browser that can use about 2MB of RAM (so it can barely open webpages), only has a maximum of 3 tabs, and can't post because no JS.
Not to mention how a lot of pages don't even load because of outdated encryption or something like that.

I just found out today about Opera Mini.

Some of those old 16 bit cards can do WPA with updated firmware. I was on a crusade to get that working once. Found the old windows software for firmware updates and burned the newest version. Still no WPA. Found out that an even newer version was available, but you couldn't flash it to the card, it had to be uploaded by the kernel on boot like most other wifi chipsets these days. 2.4 kernel doesn't support that and I was never able to get a working 2.6 on that laptop...
