So I spent 3 of my weekends trying to stream YouTube videos to my Raspberry Pi 2.
I tried nginx + RTSP but I got 10 sec delay with no audio.
I tried Kodi but the YouTube app didn't work.
Also tried omxplayer with the link I got from youtube-dl but, once again, audio seemed to work only a few times.
Should I just get a Chromecast?

Grab a Roku Express instead of Chromecast. Pi sucks as a media device. It's not useful in that regard especially if you want to play HD content over 720p.
