Those few of you here on /g/ who don't have a full-time job programming in C for microcontrollers and actually have a website or web app online, who are you hosting it with? What made you decide on that particular host?
I want this thread to be a place where we list pros/cons based on particular needs and use cases.
I've used Digital Ocean and AWS for a couple very small hobby projects, but I have to say that I hate having to manage my own server. Therefore, I'm looking for a fully managed solution that supports several different languages/frameworks.
Currently, I'm having a look at Sourcevoid (https://www.sourcevoid.com). Has anyone used them before? The only thing that's holding me back is that they're a little pricey. However, the founder seems to care a lot about the product and has already personally answered a couple questions of mine within just a couple hours time.

Go with Iceland-based.
Just don't use anyone owned by EIG (bluehost, a small orange, etc.).
Complete list found here: http://blog.tbwhs.com/eig-owned-companies/

Is this solely for privacy reasons? Any specific ones that are good?
Is there any way that I could make a practice website myself, just as part of teaching myself, and then also host it myself? Like, where do IP addresses come from? If I created a file containing a website, and then put my own IP address into my browser's address bar, could I look at my website?
