Have you ever introduced a friend of yours to GNU/Linux? What distro? Did he like it?
>He thinks /g/ has friends
kind of. He basically just said "what's that, why does your windows look different?", then I told him it was linux, and he said "alright" and never brought it up or asked to use my computer ever again.
I pretty much keep my technology life 100% separate from my social life, and don't get involved in discussions my friends are having about software, hardware, etc. Its just way easier that way than having to explain or introduce my friends to anything
One time the cable repair guy came over to fix my internet that broke.
He said "wtf is this?" and I said "GNU/Linux"
>almost convert windows fanboy to linux
>starting with KDE and a windows theme because he's being picky about workflow
>tells me there's one important thing
>linux doesn't have a file transfer speed graph like windows explorer
>mfw

Yes he had a old pc that did't run windows
that well suggested Ubuntu he saw it as
complicated later i showed him mint
he preferred it over Ubuntu
Gentoo is such a meme

Yes, actually. Debian w/cinnamon.
>he
*she. She liked it, we listened to music using clementine, laughed at stupid jokes on facebook and had fun.
Moreover, almost every classmate in my uni already knows that i'm using GNU/Linux and fuck everyone who thinks it's not at least "just okay".
>implying i have male friends
Fuck males. They're stupid beer drinkers/futball watchers or hopeless nerds on the other side.

Yes. Introduced an Ubuntu user to Arch. Now they are an Archfag with a comfy i3 setup.
I remember when I kid came over when I was 16 and I'm 19 now and I booted up Ubuntu he said "I think you broke your computer". I laughed because I remember his mom had to ask me to fix there laptop because we trying to download games all the time that were just viruses
Yes
A friendo wanted to do the jump, but he was pretty scared because of the shell
Now he's using xubuntu, he's first distro
I showed my best friend my gentoo. He found my comfy pci memethrough set up pretty neat.
But he already new about linux as most of his classwork involved using ssh to access linux boxes.
Maybe I'll introduce to something thats actually good like BSD sometime.
