Anyone have the latest Samsung Galaxy S7 root method? For Android 6 obviously.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s7/how-to/how-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039

Is outdated and there's a new version of xposed I found. Just wondering if there's a more effecient method since this one requires fixes to be installed after.

A paper could help you get employed.

But since you already got engineering degree (and are employed) I don't think it would be necessary. Consider getting a bachelor in CE/EE maybe.

I hate using /g/ for help because I use this thing called google, but I can't even find anyone else who is even asking about this problem in the first place.

Windows 10 likes to immediately start searching in the start menu as soon as you make the first keystroke. For example, if I want to search my file system for a document containing all my scattered gaming login info, I tap the Windows key and type "doc_rec_cred_game".

But what Windows 10 does is:

>search for letter D
>search gets interrupted when I press O
>begins a search for "do"
>repeats this idiotic process until I finally have the full phrase typed in
>THEN it starts searching for what I want

TL;DR: Can I artificially instill a delay in Windows 10 searches until like a fifth of a second after I stop typing in a search query? My rig can run Planetside 2 and an MMO at the same time faster than it can search for one fucking file

R9 280x Sapphire Vapor-X refuses to boot, motherboard gives me signal 2B, boots fine with on-board
Sometimes it'll go through boot normally, then crash catastrophically whenever a high-demanding video application is launched, be it games, a youtube video, anything that requires the card to switch out of minimum settings really

I got a GTX1060 that is en route because I need it operational as soon as possible, is there any way to troubleshoot the issues with the ead card, or is it a lost cause the second it refuses to boot the first time?

Power supply is doing good, I managed to sometime make it boot by starting with onboard and powering up the card on BIOS, then restarting. Still it would crash catastrophically soon after.
There was some dust I cleaned up, that reduced the average temperature pretty sharply (averaged 50 idle, 80 at max with the fan rolling, now averaged 40 idle, couldn't get a reading at max since it would crash)

I tried on another machine but the test was inconclusive (one of the 2 PCI-e required to power up the card was malfunctioning on the +2 pins, the card would light up but wouldn't boot). I wouldn't know how to troubleshoot a cable malfunction, all the cables are non-detachable

If an HDD doesn't initialize with an OS does that automatically mean it has failed or is there a possibility of data corruption that would still make it possible to access data? wmic returns OK for everything despite the drive in question refusing to be initialized (this was after an OS crash)

What should I do next? Try to see if Clonezilla recognizes it? Or perhaps mount in GNU/Linux? Wincuck10 is the OS in question

How can I see the range of a Wi-Fi router??,...for example there is some difference between the area covered by a router and an other router?..How can I see the area who a router cover?..or the area covered by the Wi-fi is a standard?

Thanks for the reply,..but I mean another thing....
For example It is possible to know how much space cover the router,...for example a router have a 100m of range,..and another router have 200m of range , it is possible?..or the wi-fi range is a standard?
>>
>>58916248
wifi is a radio.
It will have as much range as the antenna can produce a signal that the receiver can read without drowning in noise.

What you probably want is a wifi repeater.
Look into it
>>
>>58916156

if you know your gain and signal strength you can get a guesstimate of your signal distance. the more walls, metal things and enemy routers in the way will diminish gains.

if you can support newer features not available on old versions, how many still use outdated versions or didn't update and how long you have to support them.

for example you really want to use a new feature but 40% of your users wouldn't be able to use it you'd overthink that idea and not waste time on it.

One of my monitor is acting a bit weird. It generally works fine, but when I play a video that covers most of the screen, the screen will go black after a few seconds, stay black for 1 second, then come back, and repeat. This happens a lot more if the video is high resolution and/or high bitrate.

Is this likely to be a bad cap, or maybe something with the cable causing it to run out of bandwidth? It's using a single link DVI with a res of 1680x1050@60.

There's no mag stripe because they're just paper, but the automatic barriers scan them so quickly that I assumed that they would have some kind of barcode. I can't find one though - is it hidden on the ticket somehow or does the machine literally scan the reference number on the ticket?

>>
>>58921902
Because back then monitors used to burn the image if it remained static too much, that's why screensavers have stuff moving around and stuff. The screen could get fucked up.

Modern monitors don't have this issue, so screensavers don't matter anymore.
>>

Because back in the day displaying a static image on your screen caused burn-in, damaging it. A screensaver literally saved your screen because it kept things moving.

old screens would become damaged from long exposure to static images.

screen-savers "saved" your screen form that potential damage.

Does it fail to boot from the usb or does it just not install properly?

it isn't a good idea to keep electronics in temperatures like that for a very long time, but I'm not sure if it will actually cause any damage.

when I select to boot from usb it just shows the default screen with the load operating system option, when I select to boot from usb again the screen just refreshes and nothing happens.
No errors during copying the iso to the usb stick.

What's the best way on Windows to back up a set of files that get moved around frequently? For example, a huge directory of pictures that are getting renamed and sorted into subdirectories (but not modified)? If I tried to use robocopy it would have to copy a bunch of files every time when it could just be moving them around at the target.

Literally why?
>>
>>58922987
sudo apt-get install mysql-server

If that fails...
apt-cache search mysql

>>58923000
By default, GNU/Linux sets system time to UTC and then uses an offset of that for local/display time. Ubuntu's installer prompts you for this. It needs to be changed on one OS or the other.

"[a]/[b]/[c]([d])[e]:[f]:[g] No.[n]"

{ a: "02", ... }
>>
>>58923246
You've have to make a regex for it and manually fail input that doesn't match. I don't know what that [a][b][c] shit is but in regular people talk it would be:

(\d+)\/(\d+)\/(\d+)\((\w+)\)(\d+):(\d+):(\d+)\sNo\.(\d+)

what are some _good_ shielded RCA cables? i've got terrible noise coming out of my speakers any time my CPU/GPU is under heavy load, or if i drag my cursor across the screen, scroll down a webpage, or load a whole bunch of tabs at once.

and i mean good RCA cables, not "good" as in "the cheapest first result i found on amazon." i'd really like to hear a recommendation from someone who's had interference issues in the past. this noise is really pissing me off.

>>

i had no noise coming out of this setup until i moved my equipment around to make room for a new monitor. i unplugged and removed a lot of unused equipment, and a few plugs may have changed places, but they all still plug into the same surge protector into the same socket of the same outlet.

literally the only thing that changed during this equipment upgrade was the replacement of my old RCA cables; which were great cables, but jokingly short. like three feet. they can't reach my mixer in this new setup. i replaced them with these cheap RCA cables i got off of amazon. they were under $3 each and free shipping. they aren't shielded as advertised and the ground sleeves don't even hold the plug in place. they're very loose. i tried shortening the distance between my speakers and the mixer and plugged the old, good cable in, and the noise disappeared.

the outlet i'm using isn't truly grounded, but i plugged the surge protector into a three pronged extension cable and plugged it into a GFCI, properly wired outlet, one i actually tested and it checked out to be perfectly functional. noise still persists.

the issue is the cables. i also have video proof of a prior setup that didn't involve a mixer or the old, good cables i was using. in the video it produces the exact same noises i'm hearing now, and it's the worst in games.

I asked this in the PC build thread but didn't fully get the answer I was looking for, so I'll ask it here too.

I have a sound question. There's a game that DEMANDS Direct X 11 sound, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to figure out how Direct X even relates to sound at all. When you run the dxdiag tool all it says is the driver version is 6.something, which tells me exactly nothing. I can see what version of Direct X my graphics card uses easily, but is Direct X sound even a thing? I've scoured google and can't find even one explanation of how to figure out this bullshit.

i should also add that i'm using headphones right now. the audio is crystal clear coming out of my PC's headphone jack, and out of my mixer's headphone jack. the noise only happens when i have any cables plugged in to the speakers.
>>
lol why are you posting in the old thread?
